🎉 A major step toward cow-free cheese in the U.S.! 🇺🇸🧀 Those Vegan Cowboys’ precision-fermented casein, Margaret’s Finest, has received an FDA “no questions” letter — the first for precision fermentation-derived casein, according to the company! With partners like Hochland already working on burger cheese applications, TVC is moving closer to bringing cow-free dairy to the U.S. market. 🐄✨

🤠 Casein made by Those Vegan Cowboys through precision fermentation is heading into sports nutrition. A joint project by TVC, Interfood, HAS green academy and XXL Nutrition has received over €1.29 million in funding. The goal: high-protein sports nutrition made with animal-free casein — with a focus on taste, nutrition, affordability and consumer acceptance, paving the way for future market launch. 🐄🥛 Another step toward dairy that doesn’t depend on cows. #precisionfermentation #futureoffood #animalfreedairy drive.google.com/file/d/1D77…

Milk doesn’t begin in a carton. It begins with a mother and her baby. Calves are often separated from their mothers within the first 12–24 hours after birth. #clarifydairy #milk

Clarify Dairy — Part 2 Last time, I wrote about where milk begins. This time, what happens next. “I was just born. Alone on a concrete floor.” #clarifydairy #dairy

At a county fair in Virginia, young children chase terrified piglets, grab them by the legs, and drag them into a pen in a “Pig Scramble.” Causing fear and distress is neither education nor a tradition worth preserving. Please sign the petition to end this event. @Change c.org/Z8g8GMkwcN

Clarify Dairy It may seem obvious, but a cow produces milk because she has given birth to a calf. 🐄 In conventional dairy farming in Japan, calves are generally separated from their mothers soon after birth. Milk that would otherwise be consumed by the calf is also collected and sold for human consumption.

Japan still promotes milk consumption through school lunches under a law created over 60 years ago. Food choices have changed. It’s time the law did too. #dairyfree #plantbased

➡️They may look the same. Their stories are not.😬 Farmed salmon and cultivated salmon — two versions of the same “résumé.” The cultivated salmon pictured here is Wildtype salmon that I ate at Robin in San Francisco. And yes, it was genuinely delicious. A familiar food can have a very different story behind it. #seafood #ethicallymade #FoodieLife @wildtypefoods
