THE LAST FEW MONTHS HAVE BEEN ONE HELL OF A JOURNEY. BUT THE REAL HERO HAS BEEN AT HOME. Spat at. Rocks thrown. Threatened. Chased into the Black Sea to escape. Hidden for hours in darkness on a beach where a migrant had been murdered. Witnessed knives pulled and punches thrown. Chased a smuggler. Ducked more flying trainers than I can remember. Captured what I believe to be the world’s first footage of an illegal migrant boat launching from Belgium. Spent 37 consecutive days in France. But none of this would have been possible without one extraordinary woman. My wife, Lindsay. While I’ve been taking risks, losing money, missing family time and chasing stories across France, she’s been holding everything together at home. She’s my biggest supporter, my driving force and the person who makes all of this possible. When I was young, I gave up my dream of becoming an Army officer to build a life with her. I’ve never regretted that decision for a single second. Twenty years of marriage, two incredible children, countless storms weathered together and Ziva, our wonderful dog, who she somehow let me have! 😂 Our marriage isn’t perfect. We’ve had our challenges, but we’re stronger today than we’ve ever been. The word legend gets thrown around far too easily. But Lindsay is a genuine one. Behind the Nowhere Photographer is a woman who has always given him somewhere to belong. I love you, Lindsay. And if I had my time again, I’d choose you every single time.
