Nearly half of those who voted in my poll haven’t tried Grok Bots yet. I find it surprising as I assumed many more people had used @bot by now. For those who might find it useful, here's my main template: a chief of staff who runs all my AI assistants. x.ai/bot/Q95CiuxaGmjpJiBG02X…

I can’t wait to see space ports being built all over the country. Maybe people will stop worrying about the future once they realize there’s so much to build out there, and so much yet to do right above our heads. Instead of chasing eclipses, people will go watch launches to get inspired and ponder about the true meaning of life, the universe, and everything else.
In a comment to the FAA, SpaceX says it wants to launch 10,000 times per year. The FAA asked for input on where to build new spaceports and how to give rocket launches priority in US airspace. They're preparing for 10,000 launches a year by 2035. SpaceX replied that rockets aren't the bottleneck anymore, the FAA's outdated air traffic processes are. They created their own airspace tool (Cleared) that most major US airlines already get for free. They also noted that Starbase Louisiana is designed for ~30 launches and reentries PER DAY (!!)

Stay safe ladies, and if you spot any red flag, take it seriously before things escalate further.
Upon recent events, I did some digging and it broke my heart. We have created a system that disgusts me. And it’s repeat offenders all the way through. Approximately 1 in 10 women (9.7%) will experience non-fatal strangulation or choking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. A woman who survives a non-fatal strangulation incident is 7.5 times (750%) more likely to be murdered by that same partner in the future. Over 1 in 3 women (35.6%) in the United States have experienced physical or sexual violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. Intimate partner and domestic violence account for roughly 15% to 24% of all violent crime. Domestic violence hotlines nationwide receive more than 20,000 calls on a typical day.

Audio dumps to my CoS are indeed the main reason why my life has changed so much in the past few weeks. I don’t even need to do them too often, but they work for two reasons: - clear priorities and expectations, even if the audio dump is somewhat messy at times; - clearer thought process on my end too, especially as I record these during some of my morning walks and while staring at nature, having time to ponder, etc. Those voice memos are essential to my work flow, and I know many others use them too. If you aren’t working like that yet, you should probably give it a try.
I did almost 1 billion views with text. Now I'm going to do the same with video. Here's what I've learned so far. I spent 2 years trying to automate content with AI, especially video. I tried everything. The science behind hooks. Systems that ingest content that already performed and reverse-engineer why. Pipelines that generate, score, iterate. Prompt chains on prompt chains. Etc etc. The reality: When there's no human in the loop, it always sounds flat. It always reads as AI-generated. Every time. You can feel it in the first 3 seconds. The structure is right, the hook "follows the rules," the pacing is optimized, and it's still dead. Because there's no one behind it. No angle, no conviction, no taste. What actually works, and what I do on my own account, is completely different: Use AI to compress your time. Not to replace your judgment. The video I posted the other day did 5 million views. I spent zero time on the editing. And for the writing, I didn't prompt my way to a script. I recorded voice notes. My raw thinking, my angle, my taste. Then I turned those into the script with AI. That's the whole trick. The part that comes from you stays yours. The part that's pure execution gets compressed to near zero. The mistake everyone makes is trying to automate the wrong half. They automate the thinking and keep doing the editing by hand. It should be the exact opposite. Your taste is the scarce asset. The execution is the commodity. AI is an incredible multiplier. But zero times anything is still zero. If there's no one in the loop, there's nothing to multiply. Keep the human signal. Delete the human labor.

Is it just me or “they will never go to school” has become some kind of buzz word people use to reach more new accounts? Anyway, since my kids did go to daycare/preschool, and do go to school on a part time basis, I can confirm that future generations no longer needing to go to school at all will significantly increase everyone’s quality of life. It’s been nearly a month since we took kiddos #2 and #3 out of daycare and preschool full time, and our life is actually much *easier* than it was two months ago. Turns out that most of the disruptive behaviors from #2 were strictly caused by an overly busy schedule and cohabitation with some kids who weren’t great role models. And I guess the rest was caused by not being stimulated enough intellectually, when she was more than ready to move on to more challenging things.

Grok bot is going to be doing everything custom GPTs failed to do, and so much more. I really can’t wait to see what’s next on their roadmap.
Grok Bot is taking another major step toward becoming an incredibly powerful platform for businesses and teams The latest early build reveals several interesting changes, particularly around Shared Bots, service accounts, permissions, and automated workflows And the biggest development is how much easier it's becoming for teams to share and manage specialized SI agents across their organizations Here's what's coming: Release Notes: v1.0.0 (Early Build) New Features • Mail permissions: Email setup separately handles permission to open emails and permission to send them • Shared Bots: A dedicated section makes it easier to discover Bots that other people have shared with you • Bot service accounts: Early support for giving Team Bots their own accounts or allowing them to work through yours • Plugin availability: Plugins can indicate when they're not yet available on your account • Flight checkout: Improved airline booking buttons, including "Book on [Airline]," with clearer Multi-city and Round trip options In Development • Obsidian Vault: Work on finding, reading, and saving notes in a selected local Obsidian vault on Mac Other Improvements • Search now provides clearer guidance when a lookup fails, suggesting that you try a different query These are early build findings, so some features may change or remain unavailable in the final release Official changelog: x.ai/changelog/bot

Efficiency isn’t the ultimate goal, agency is. Which is why systems we built in our home have always been aiming at increasing kids autonomy and creativity. Yes, things might be slower at first, but once they pick them up, there’s no stopping them.

Should we tell them the current platform has pretty much nothing to do with the original one? Or do they live in such a different bubble that they can't tell the difference?

For those who are not paying attention, we're already living in the future. Well, not all of us, but the onboarding has started. Only time will tell how long it takes to onboard the other billions who didn't get front row seats.
We don’t usually notice change because we are so adaptable. The singularity is moving so fast that we may just wake up one day and realize we are in the future. But we will adapt onto a new horizon.

The only way to make the cost obvious would be mandatory MRI scans to show brain development at various stages in life. So yeah, that's not going to happen. :/
We're about to enter a period where not reading or writing becomes as ubiquitous as smoking once was. We can hope people will eventually realize this is bad for them, as they did with smoking. But this is far from certain; the cost may not be as obvious.

My oldest is only in first grade and my second in preK but I agree. Reading, basic writing, maths, playing and read aloud time is all you need. If you really must add something, add audiobooks or nice quiet music while kids are busy drawing. That’s pretty much it.
I'm a former classroom teacher with way too many advanced degree and education certifications. The number 1 piece of advice I have for modern kindergarten parents is: Y'ALL ARE DOING TOO MUCH. Seriously. Calm down a little bit. 😂 So much contemporary curriculum is super overwhelming for no good reason. All these little ones need (at most!) is: 1. A bit of English daily. 2. A bit of math daily. 3. Read aloud time daily 👈🏻 important! 4. Free play time outdoors. That's why I made my free kindergarten curriculum, so that parents can know that their kids are "on track" without completely burning everyone out during one of the most fun years of their lives.

I love the fact that Lauren named her bot Tibot 😂 I bet he’s the one who has been roasting Tibo all along 👀
i've gotten a lot of questions about how i manage my X account with grok bot, so i'm sharing my bot tibot today! he watches your mentions and: • finds every post about you or any keywords, tagged or not • gives one short, sorted digest a day (or hourly, your call) • skips spam and noise • translates non-English posts • can auto block trolls and abuse • never posts for you i still write all my posts and articles by hand but tibot has been very helpful with keeping me in the loop. hire tibot today! x.ai/bot/xZ4wRvomWqzCXnyYFr7…

That sounds pretty sensible to me. At the very least, parents should be able to opt out. As it is, the only way to opt out of edtech in primary school is often to homeschool one’s kids.
Two of my kids are in public school, just saw a petition circulating in the district for ed tech reform, what do we think? highlights: - remove devices from K-2 - rescind 1:1 devices / back to computer carts & labs - real screen time limits + audits - block non-educational material - pause student use of generative AI , limit use for teachers too - parental opt-out rights , frequent tech-related progress reports - independent review of all edtech contracts fournorms.com/campaigns/peti…

So kiddo has been doing a few sessions here and there this afternoon and evening, and so far she seems to be progressing well. Her main challenge is actually figuring out how to swipe on the tablet properly, since she’s barely ever touched a tablet before, apart to listen to audio books. 😅 Anyway, I can’t wait for her to be able to join in during silent reading sessions. Kiddo #1 can now read chapter books by herself for extended periods of time, so it’s going to be amazing when they can both do this. 🥲

Speaking of older cartoons, right now is a good time to watch the classic Disney shorts from the 30s or so, like the Halloween specials. Speaking of easy meals, get an air fryer if you don’t have one yet. And an instant pot. And, you know, get a meal prep plan in place.
I beg overwhelmed moms to figure out some simple meals and figure out some chill older cartoons for their kids that don't hype them up to watch sometimes. This doesn't have to be torture. This can be so enjoyable. It can be delightful, in fact. If more of us put down the elaborate parenting rituals, and chilled out a bit, we would have more energy to read to our kids 🤷🏻‍♀️

Useful app for parents to monitor progress on @MentavaInc , great addition. This wasn’t available last time we used the app with our oldest, and it should give us great insight on what needs to be reinforced further. Yes, we will practice reading off screen too of course.
