Starmer can give conditions to his support. That hadn’t happened We are clear in our view that Trump is a toxic and dangerous man — putting global security at threat, we warn today as we did the relationship under Blair and Bush.
As much as I admire what Ed has said, there’s absolutely no way Starmer could say this. Saying what you think is a perk of not being in power. Maybe that needs to change, but I’d suggest today isn’t the day.

Proud that our leader @EdwardJDavey refused to do this.
At some point this morning, Keir Starmer and a million other sensible centrist European leaders will calmly congratulate a fascist on becoming the most powerful man on Earth. At this moment, we will know what it looks like when an antelope places its head in the jaws of a lion.

That guy who voted against the coalition. Considering our team live rent free, wondering why that key bit of context omitted. But besides all that, we are a team who are aligned on fighting this terrible policy. We recommend you try it rather it sometime

The Labour Party cares more about factionalism than it does about those in need.
It turns out the heckler joined Labour in 2022 and was supportive of Starmer at the outset, so this odious response makes less than no sense

Care and carers have been overlooked by successive governments for too long. There is an opportunity at the start of this Parliament to work on a cross party basis to fix social care. The @LibDems are ready and willing to be part of the solution theguardian.com/society/2024…

joined in 2022, people who see the world through Labour factionalism don’t seem to understand the extent to which this matters to so many people, who may even be natural allies to Labour otherwise but haven’t had their brain broken by that. the gag today is consistent with this

Especially when the majority of the public are against him on Gaza, Winter Fuel and LGBTRights. Against the return to austerity. Very old. Incredibly tiresome.
Not saying you need to hug a heckler but this "everyone who disagrees with us is a commie lefty" schtick is getting old.

The Liberal Democrats stand on the principle “I don’t agree with you but I’ll fight for your freedom to say it”. This governments main policy, well it is to protect its brand.

The protestor of Starmer's speech joined the party *in 2022*, suggesting maybe Labour might have a much bigger problem on their hands than some embittered old Corbynites!
Break: we caught up with the protestor from the PM's speech

Labour conferences is not a policy making forum. Labour conference will silence critics. Labour conference is not for its members. Labour members are told what to do, never asked. Try something different instead.
A timely reminder: Manchester Liberal Democrats have repeatedly beaten Labour and with much less, without having to cosy up to multi millionaires. Campaigns are crafted and funded by people out there on the ground. #LabourConferece24

In any other job, despising a coworker’s work so much that you set the office on fire would generally be considered unacceptable. Actually.
