You can make a very good case that the beginning of the end of the Trump presidency was when the people of Minneapolis refused to back down after two people were killed in the street and the admin was forced to retreat. After that they stopped seeming so formidable and scary.
People in Minneapolis placed “I Voted” stickers on memorials dedicated to Renee Good and Alex Pretti on Election Day.

It's important to remember that Stephen Miller's work is not merely about immigration, per se. It's about redefining who counts as American. This has implications well beyond immigration policy. nytimes.com/2026/02/06/magaz…

.@Peggynoonannyc empties the clip "The American people expect a certain amount of corruption in government because government is composed of people, and men aren’t angels. They’ll accept a normal amount if the government keeps a strong economy and peace. But fail on the economy and peace and they’ll see your corruption and be angered by it. And if you give them corruption that is showy and shameless, they will punish you. They will admit to themselves that you are unusually sleazy and moneygrubbing—Bitcoin! Crypto! Charges of pardons for sale! Federal contracts for the companies of the sons! PLS WIRE AMEX 100K SOONEST!—and they will turn on you. "In this regard most of all, this White House drove the Republican brand into the ground.

Civil society-civil rights orgs especially-played a critical role in ensuring the 2026 elections were largely free & fair. As a result Black voters sent a resounding message that we cannot be silenced or counted out. Now, we must stay engaged and vigilant. naacpldf.org/press-release/l…

When we return next week, we’ll get 218 signatures for Epstein Files Transparency Act II, which guarantees a vote. Survivors will be able to get their own records, State Attorneys General can prosecute crimes, and we can take the DOJ to court for keeping critical files hidden.⚖️

Cruelty for thee, but not for me? Fairness for everyone.
NEW The Wall Street Journal reports that after First Lady Melania Trump complained about people she knew getting deported, the president would tell aides that the architect of his aggressive immigration campaign, Stephen Miller, had gone too far. Republicans in Texas and Florida privately complained to the White House as well. Full Story: on.wsj.com/4sFnWdQ

Mamdani announced $122 million to hire 1,000 more teachers in 2027. No wonder they say socialism is so terrible: our tax dollars go to our schools instead of endless foreign wars.

can't blame Sinema can't blame Manchin can't blame Lieberman can't blame Nelson The Democratic Majorities have to raise the minimum wage, pass the PRO Act, joint-employer liability, public financing of elections, stop the corporate practice of Medicine, prohibit health insurers from owning Medicare, separate CVS from pharmacies, ban surveillance pricing and wages, prohibit data centers from owning generative AI companies, ban tech giants from "self-preferencing", revive Glass Steagall, ban private equity asset stripping, get credit card rates DOWN, stop agribusiness from stripping value and then get to work.

I'm less impressed by how @ossoff speaks (though he's terrific at that too) and more impressed by what he says. This 2-minute clip is the best explanation of Trump corruption that I've ever heard. His explanation of the Russian dirty deals is so accurate and so clear. He knows the facts cold. And he explains them better than I can.
He has that Obama elocution.

Republicans spent months demonizing Somalis, spreading fear and making our community their favorite political punching bag. And then a Somali man said, “Hold my shaah,” and flipped one of their seats. You can’t make this up.
