Max Dowman 👏👏👏
So much to love about his blatantly wrongful dismissal:
1. Heavy tackle but doesn't throw himself to ground or roll about to get a player booked
2. Stands up to him & without aggression for me e.g. look at Palmer yellow on Saturday
Should never have been a red, not even close & its a lesson for him but I love the way hes went about it.
“We know how it feels to be a child and have a ball at your feet. Every time I have the opportunity to help another kid have that feeling again, that's important to me.” ✨
Bukayo and his family's work has funded emergency housing and shelters for families affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Morocco and has also helped children in Nigeria, and all over Africa with transformative surgeries.
A star on and off the pitch. Congratulations, Bukayo ❤️

Evidence from the Covid Inquiry is now overwhelming — @MattHancock's failures during the pandemic led to thousands of avoidable deaths.
Removing Hancock from the Privy Council would be a small step towards accountability.

The privatised Royal Mail is in crisis. It should be brought back into public control to deliver for the people, not for profiteers.
It's welcome that a range of colleagues including @darrenpjones spoke up on the issue this week.
On Tuesday 20th October, the union leadership held a meeting with Royal Mail's owners to address the issues with DM26 and agree a way forward.
The full joint statement, which is available on our website, commits the company to:
• A new delivery model, shaped by an independent fatigue study and listening sessions with frontline staff;
• 8,100 temporary uplifts made permanent by 31st January 2027;
• 195 struggling Delivery Units prioritised and stabilised;
• Immediate negotiations on equalising new entrants’ terms and conditions.
We believe these measures will help the current burden at Royal Mail in the short term - but we still believe government intervention is the only way forward to resolving the deep issues that threaten the company's future.
I'll be deadly honest with you.
This country's cultural lens and identity on football should be seen as a shame to the world.
Still fundamentally a neanderthal level of mindset in regards to football.
And they wonder why they don't win anything on the international level.

#JasonArday has been cleared of plagiarism for a fourth time. Why is the media silent about it?
As another investigation ends without substantiating plagiarism claims, @richardsudan asks who will hold the British media accountable for its treatment of the pioneering Black academic?👇🏿

80% of the Reform UK political donations came from persons/companies based abroad.
People not permanently resident in the UK or paying taxes subverting UK politics.
What have they been promised in return?
Political donations are bribes, must be banned.

Basic human decency wouldn't permit me to be "very happy" if I was nominated for some trinket, knowing that it very needlessly costs someone their life.
When the story of Jason Arday is told in full and remembered in history, the British "Journalism" Awards will be ashamed.
Very happy to have been shortlisted in the Specialist Journalism category in this year's British Journalism Awards for my investigation into Cambridge University professor Jason Arday and the extensive plagiarism in his PhD thesis #BJA2026

This angle shows Max Dowman’s leg is still trapped when he pushes out. There is no force, despite the defender have a follow up pop with his left leg. And, as for the fake hard men jumping on a 16 year old, pathetic. #Arsenal are right to appeal.

A passionate case made by Darren Jones for the renationalisation of the Royal Mail.
A postal service isn’t a nice to have luxury, it’s an essential, critical public service.
Ofcom has investigated Royal Mail seven times since 2015 and fined them four times.
And yet last year they lowered the targets and cut second class delivery days, saving the company £425 million pounds.
A regulator that rewards failure is not fit for purpose. We need an Ofcom with teeth.

This is why England haven’t won anything since 1966 and always fall short, technical players are still never protected and allowed to be assaulted on the pitch without punishment. Physicality over technicality is STILL the identity & it’ll hold us back from getting over the hump.

I dunno man, I think referees should probably be sanctioning the dangerous, out of control tackle as much -- if not more -- than they should the petulant but unimpactful swing out in response.
