BREAKING: 🇺🇸 The Pentagon is treating a series of mysterious freezer malfunctions at US military bases across the country in August, which resulted in large quantities of food being spoiled at military commissaries, as a suspected cyberattack.
The incidents affected at least six military commissaries, where food was spoiled after refrigeration units had their temperatures raised overnight.
US military investigators are also in contact with French counterparts following the similar cyberattack on commercial refrigeration systems in France earlier this month, affecting more than 350 establishments.
The Pentagon has confirmed that a US Cyber Command unit is working with government agencies and law enforcement. The US Army Criminal Investigation Division is also involved.
Investigators have not publicly confirmed the cause or identified those responsible. The new information reveals that the August incidents are now being investigated as a potential case of cyber-sabotage targeting food storage and supply chains.

The new requirement is part of FORTRESS, a broader military initiative aimed at ensuring American forces can continue fighting even if the civilian systems they depend on are disrupted, according to documents reviewed by Fox News Digital.

In Germany, it is also recommended to prepare an emergency bag containing medication, a first-aid kit, and a radio, and to keep important documents—such as passports and educational certificates—in a separate folder.
🇮🇹 Over the past few hours, I’ve spoken with several friends from across Italy, from the south to the central regions, and the situation is still bad.
They report empty supermarket shelves and shortages of milk, fruit, vegetables and even bottled water. In some areas, supermarket shelves are genuinely bare, while certain petrol stations run out of fuel.
Some people who didn’t have a good stock of food at home are now struggling to find basic items in local shops and supermarkets.
