Situation in Brazil PRAYING FOR THE NATION!
I’m living in the South-East in Brazil in the middle of nowhere. Yesterday, I drove 45 minutes to the next pharmacy to pick up my autism medication. And guys, I live in a very sparsely populated area. People here know about my political views, and some even follow me on this platform. Several people (those at the gas station and the pharmacist) brought up the elections. And you know what? They were whispering. Literally whispering. They no longer dare to speak their minds. They told me how difficult things have become. They’re afraid that even the slightest criticism could get Alexandre de Moraes to send someone after them. They no longer feel safe because of the authoritarian central government. And that’s despite the fact that my entire region, and pretty much all of southern Brazil, is overwhelmingly conservative. What’s happening to Brazil is extremely frightening. It’s as if an entire population is being held hostage by a Supreme Court judge who thinks he’s God, and a president who was once convicted of corruption and whose political opponents are being pushed aside, just like the communists once did in the Soviet Union. I hope the right finally unites and, if necessary, even breaks away from the tyrannical regime in Brasília. People have the right to freedom and self-determination. Here in Brazil and everywhere else in the world.

Former DRC President #Kabila's interview below is an example of how one man's desire for power and wealth can be so great that the millions of Congolese who could die as a result of "his" revolution are viewed as disposable. Former President Kabila poses the question, "Does the Congo need an #election or a #revolution?" An election is when the people freely choose their leaders. A revolution, especially one aimed at a democratically elected government, is a coup that overturns the will of the people. Rwanda's @PaulKagame and Kabila have chosen armed conflict and made it clear that the right of the Congolese people to freely elect their president, and the potential deaths of millions, are secondary to their desire for power and access to the DRC's vast natural resource wealth. @realDonaldTrump @JDVance @SusieWiles47 @HouseForeignGOP @HouseForeign @SenateForeign @SFRCdems @RepJames @RepSaraJacobs @SecRubio @StateDept @DeputySecState @AsstSecStateAF @PressSec @CNN @BBCAfrica @AP @ReutersAfrica @DeptofWar

Kagame’s accomplishments Day 25
#JusticePourLesVictimes #HumanRights #GenocideAwareness #NeverForget @UNSC_Reports @UN_HRC @UNHumanRights @UNESCO_fr @AuRwanda @Genocost #Burundi #bantou @RwandaMoD @NewTimesRwanda @RwandaParliamnt @UrugwiroVillage @DrBizimana @ProfDusingizem1 @EUinRW @UKinRwanda @USAmbRwanda @_AfricanUnion #RWOX @SADC_News @AsstSecStateAF @jumuiya

Today, a bipartisan group of US Senators are calling on the National Basketball Association (@NBA) to reevaluate its commercial partnership with Rwanda, in light of Rwanda's invasion of eastern DR Congo. This follows years of work by The Sentry on this issue. espn.com/nba/story/_/id/5028… Sasha Lezhnev, Senior Policy Advisor at the Sentry, said: "Rwanda's invasion of the DR Congo with up to 18,000 troops and command of an armed group that has recruited child soldiers and committed alleged war crimes should raise alarm bells with the NBA. It's time for the league and the Clippers to cancel their commercial relationships with Rwanda, just as Arsenal and Bayern Munich did last year." The Sentry has reported for several years on the roles of Rwanda, Uganda, and the DRC government in the conflict in eastern DRC. Earlier this year we launched the Blood on the Ball campaign to draw attention to sportswashing by governments involved in fueling some of the deadliest wars in the world, particularly Rwanda and the United Arab Emirates. Some of the Senators' key quotes: "We are increasingly alarmed by the NBA’s deepening relationship with Rwanda despite its invasion of the neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), its continued support for a rebel group that has committed war crimes, and the resulting major shifts in U.S. policy toward Rwanda. The NBA risks becoming complicit in sportswashing by a Rwandan government that systematically abuses human rights. That is contrary to the spirit of American sports.” “What is the NBA’s red line for accepting money from foreign governments that commit human rights abuses?” “What specific changes in U.S. policy toward a country would lead the NBA to change or end a partnership with that country’s government? Do U.S. government actions against Rwanda since 2024 meet that standard?" Thank you to @SenJeffMerkley (D-OR) and @MarshaBlackburn (R-TN) for raising this with Adam Silver, Mark Tatum, and the NBA. Amnesty International also has a petition to the NBA on this issue.

Basketball can grow in Africa without becoming a PR tool for Kagame regime accused of serious abuses! US Senators (Merkley & Blackburn) are right to call out the NBA’s Rwanda partnership as sportswashing. While Paul Kagame’s government pays the NBA $6–7M a year, hosts BAL finals in Kigali, and puts “Visit Rwanda” on jerseys, it faces credible accusations of political repression, arbitrary detention, and backing militias accused of summary executions, rape, and child soldier recruitment in DRC. Clare Akamanzi, CEO of NBA Africa (former head of Rwanda’s Development Board), has been central to building these exact sports-investment ties. The league’s stated commitment to social justice looks hollow when it keeps taking money from a government under US and European scrutiny for exactly these issues. Basketball can grow in Africa without becoming a PR tool for regimes accused of serious abuses. The NBA should publish clear human-rights red lines — or end the partnership. @NBA

Kagame’s accomplishments Day 22
October2026 Remembering the @HutuGenocide in #Rwanda and in #DRCongo #Day22 📍DESTRUCTION OF #KASHUSHA, #INERA AND ADI-KIVU CAMPS ▶️In 1996, UNHCR estimated that there were 307,499 refugees spread over the 26 camps in the territories of #Walungu, #Kabare and #Kalehe, commonly known as the “#Bukavu camps”. The attacking forces of Alliance of Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Congo (AFDL) and Rwandan Patriotic Army (#RPA) advanced towards Bukavu from the South. When they left Nyantende village, the AFDL/APR troops split into two groups. The first group continued in the direction of Bukavu. The second group headed towards Walungu-Centre. ⏩On Saturday 2 November 1996, after the capture of Bukavu, AFDL/#APR units attacked the #ADI-Kivu, #Kashusha and #INERA refugee camps in the #Kabare territory with heavy weapons, killing thousands of refugees. It is around ten o’clock in the morning when a rain of bombs begins to fall on the three camps of Kashusha, Inera and ADI Kivu. Then #RPA soldiers burst into the camp, machine-gunning with automatic weapons, supported by heavy weapons. During the attack, AFDL/APR soldiers fired indiscriminately. Outflanked, FAZ troops from the camp security contingent CZSC (Contingent zaïrois pour la sécurité des camps) fled, followed by some of the refugees. ⏩No one will be able to count the refugees who fell under the bullets of the RPA soldiers during 4 days of the relentless massacre. The save-who-can was catastrophic; no parent could have time to take their child to flee with it, and so far some surviving families are still searching for family members. ▶️A long human tide took the Kavumu-Goma road which runs along Lake Kivu. Another column of refugees headed towards the Kawuzi-Biega Natural Park and trying to make their way towards the town of Kisangani. In this group were about ten nuns from the congregation of the Benebikira sisters as well as a Catholic priest. They were caught two days later by RPF soldiers in the locality of Shabunda. The sisters were raped and then killed; the priest was also tortured and then executed. “I was part of the flow of people who fled by road to Goma. In passing, the inhabitants of the camps located along the road, those of Idjwi and the local populations came to swell the crowd. Three days later, all this human tide finds itself blocked in Nyabibwe, a small town some two hundred kilometers from Bukavu. We had no way to advance any further as @PaulKagame’s soldiers have taken up positions in Minova and are operating hand in hand with the local Mai Mai fighters who were bought to hunt down and kill Rwandan Hutu refugees. The only solution we had left was to climb the mountains, cross the forests of Masisi and Walikale to try to reach the road that leads to Kisangani.” ▶️In about two hours since the start of the attack, all that remained in the camps were the wounded, sick, old people and children who had lost their way in the stampede. They were regrouped by the Rwandan Tutsi soldiers and massacred the same day. After systematically looting the camps, @rpfinkotanyi soldiers burned the bodies of the victims with gasoline and the ashes loaded into military trucks and thrown into the #Rusizi River according to reliable testimonies I have received from the Congolese survivors of Kavumu and Bukavu. According to the same sources, that same day, two young women who were hospitalized in Kavumu maternity hospital were thrown alive with their infants into the toilet of a local trader by the name of Tumbo. @UNOSAPG @un_council @CNNAfrica @CNN @F1 @SkySportsF1 @Unity_MemoryRw #RwTo @UNGeneva @UnityClubRw @AJEnglish @AlJazeera
