We have to think about collapsing Trump poll numbers and Rs turning on him the same way we'd think about finally being able to corner a rabid raccoon in your garage. Good news: he's out of options. Bad news: he's a rabid raccoon.
😳 Trump loses it and SNAPS at a string of reporters, says Ilhan Omar might "go to jail," calls Somalia "a shit house," and boasts that thanks to a new program he announced today Americans "will make millions of dollars by turning others in" during absolutely deranged Oval Office event
Here's a supercut:

Getting her estranged mother she hasn’t spoken to in decades to make her most devastatingly painful family trauma into a political ad after essentially abandoning her as a 12 year old so she can flee the state with her perverse, sexually abusive husband is just “being mean” to your opponent?
The Republican Party has bottomed out so badly that the Vice President of the United States is defending and enabling a gubernatorial candidate’s choice to use a disgusting excuse for a mother to bash the daughter she refused to protect as a child by making it a political talking point. If you want to hit Amy Acton on policies then do that but do not think for one minute that voters outside of MAGA depraved cultists think it’s ok to use a woman’s horrifyingly tragic childhood as a weapon against her to make a point.
JD Vance: "When you're mean to Amy Acton, she sics the American media and of course the Democrat Party operatives all across the state of Ohio after you. But I think a person who is more worried about whether somebody says something mean about them, that person can never serve in the governor's mansion"

People say "I'm a left winger because I have basic human empathy" and then proceed to defend some of the cruelest regimes in human history that committed acts of mass terror and bloodcurdling atrocities, as well as militias known for heinous war crimes, child soldiers and drugs
This makes sense when you realize that Acton's estranged mother represents a major demographic cohort -- parents who covered up horrific family secrets and are puzzled why their kids don't talk to them. This cohort is becoming politically organized.

Axios: Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign says the ad with Acton’s estranged mother will begin streaming tonight, and will be airing statewide in Ohio.

Chris Christie should run for president again. Not because he'd be a good president, or even because he'd have a chance at winning. I just want to see him direct this energy at JD Vance.

I saw a post on Reddit that said, “When you walk through a museum, you’re not just looking at art. You’re moving through centuries of people trying to explain love, grief, power, beauty, and belonging.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen a museum described so beautifully.

If this country lets Vivek Ramaswamy get away with that ad, you will not believe how foul and disgusting the 2028 and 2030 elections will be.
If you let this pass, you will never put the genie back in the bottle.

actually this is a savvy move out of Vivek's campaign

I think Muslims need to understand something uncomfortable.
Non-Muslims do not owe Muhammad their respect. They do not believe he was a prophet, and some do not even consider him a good man. You can disagree with them, but you cannot demand that they see him the way you do.
Your reverence for someone does not create an obligation for the rest of the world to revere him.
So, are we going to kill everyone who insults Muhammad, or are we going to learn to practise our religion in a world where not everyone shares our beliefs?
Because the world is not going to become Muslim just to protect our feelings.
We have two choices: learn to live with our differences or spend our lives fighting a world we cannot control.
You cannot force people to love your prophet by making them afraid to criticise him. You can only teach them to fear those who claim to love him.

Christie was like a hog in slop at those debates. Knew he was never going to be POTUS so he focused his efforts on ensuring several other people also would not be POTUS.
A true hater, through and through. In this rare instance you gotta hand it to him.
So Elon Musk, who has called for people to be prosecuted for treason because of their protected speech, provided aid to an enemy of the United States?

We all saw that disturbing footage yesterday of trump snarling at a reporter in the Oval Office.
But do you know what that reporter was trying to ask?
Trump just announced a new program that rewards people for reporting government fraud.
The reporter simply wanted to know why we need this new program when we’ve already had a law doing something similar since 1863, and that law actually pays whistleblowers a higher percentage.
THAT’S A DAMN GOOD QUESTION.
And here’s the crazy part. There was a perfectly reasonable answer! The new program is supposed to cover types of fraud the old law doesn’t.
THAT’S IT. THAT’S ALL HE HAD TO FUCKING SAY.
Instead, we watched the president and vice president turn a legitimate question into a confrontation.
This man is unhinged. The way he reacts to questions is disturbing. He treats every question like a personal attack. Every reporter is an enemy. Even the simplest fucking question becomes some kind of threat.
And that’s what worries me. We have a president who appears so defensive that he can’t even handle someone asking him to explain his own policies.
This is the President of the United States, folks.
And this shit is NOT normal.

Can any of the anti-fraud Republicans tell us:
-Who owns the offshore account in Qatar that holds $400M in seized Venezuelan oil money?
-What happened with the $1B sent to Trump's "Board of Peace"?
-Who owns the Qatari gifted Air Force One?
-Why more than 50 people who received pardons did so after major donations to Trump or major partnerships with his family's businesses?
-How much public money has been spent at Trump golf courses?
-Who front ran market moving announcements on the war to the tune of more than $20B?
-Why public contracts are going to businesses of Trump allies and cost more than 10x the normal rates?
If not, maybe it's time to shut the hell up about corruption.

“we should oppose making electricity cheaper because it will benefit data centers” is the most insane argument I’ve ever heard
Read @ArthurDelaneyHP on how progressives are arguing permitting reform would inevitably benefit data center construction, hoping to make it a tough vote for Dems after a midterm campaign built in part around relentless attacks on data centers.

Because it is.
Antisemitism isn’t just disliking Jews, it’s an all-encompassing conspiracy theory that posits the collective Jew as the source of all earthly evil, which must thus be destroyed. Not that Jews are evil, but that evil *itself* is Jewish.
It’s uniquely exterminationist, and is the reason why the 20th century saw the destruction or displacement of almost every Jewish community in Europe, West Asia, and North Africa.
You’re not going to find anyone else on earth subjected to this level of obsessive, unhinged hatred. It is a unique form of hatred and should be treated- and retaliated against- as such.

Let's be clear about the GOP
-Max Miller (OH-07) is accused of domestic violence, including pouring boiling water on his wife and breaking his 2-year-old daughter's collar bone.
Max Miller is accused of breaking the bone of a two-year-old. Let that sink in.
-Meanwhile Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Governor of Ohio--the same state--and is platforming the abuser of his opponent in order to undermine her. The abuser in this case is the child's mother, who covered up the rape of her own child.
-Then, in Kansas, Roger Marshall is running for Senate after he actively fought to imprison more than 100 of his female OB-GYN patients, successfully jailing 81. Including for not being able to foot $100 for their own hysterectomies & other care.
Breaking the bones of children. Abusing women. Weaponizing child molestation. Platforming those who cover-up child molestation. Imprisoning vulnerable women whose bodies you've operated on.
That's the Republican party we're facing.
Get. Out. The. Vote.

One of the effects of having all these people coming into politics who didn't pay their dues and claw their way up in the political world is they don't really understand basic Politics 101 things like "when to apologize" or "when to throw someone under the bus".

I am not Jewish. But I am a proud Israeli citizen. I live in Tel Aviv. Despite the world having extremely opinionated views about the country I live in, few people I have come across on X (that don’t live here) know little of substance about Israel apart from their warped sense of history and reality. This is the first post of a series I will write entitled Everything You Think You Know About Israel is (Probably) Wrong. The points are not in any particular order. Spread the word.
Most Israelis (just over 50%) are not white. The devastating impact on European Jews of the Holocaust meant that the newly formed Israel in 1948 was largely populated by Jews fleeing persecution in Muslim-ruled countries predominantly in the Middle East and North Africa. These are known as Mizrahi Jews and when the State of Israel was formed they made up 80% of the Jewish population living here.
Jews have had a continuous presence in the land of Israel since around 1208 BCE, that’s 3,200 years — long before the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. The Muslim faith, in contrast, dates back 1,400 years (610 CE). Yes, when they lost majority rule in the 7th-century Muslim conquest they were not in the majority for centuries, but still lived in their ancestral homeland.
Arab terrorism against Jews existed before 1948. In 1929, for example, 67 Jews were killed in the Hebron massacre, attacked and slaughtered by the Arabs they lived and worked beside. My wife’s great-grandfather Ben-Zion Gershon (who was a local doctor that often treated the Arab community without accepting payment) was tortured, had both his eyes gouged out and was then murdered. This was after his daughter Esther was raped in front of him, and his wife Zahava had both arms chopped off and was left to die. This was just one of many similar massacres inflicted on Jews that day.
I will continue this series over the coming days.
