when i was growing up everyone called it "suicide bridge". i think the government made a big effort to tell media types and commentators not to call it that
The Colorado Street Bridge in Pasadena is an architectural marvel & one of the most visually stunning bridges in the world. But it also has a dark history, known as “Su1cide Bridge” for the more than 150 tragedies that have taken place on the bridge. Let's get into it.

The internet nationalized the congressional elections
In the grand sweep of American history, it’s not normal or natural for someone from New York to care who the Senator from Kansas is

actually talking about family members' positions absolutely is Islamophobic, and it's also guilt by association straight out of Joe McCarthy. If El-Sayed said something that's fair game, but people are reaching for kin to scare voters about Islam.
It's not "Islamophobic" to call out his family's legitimate associations with the Muslim Brotherhood. Further, El-Sayed is caught on tape openly saying that discussing the Temple Israel synagogue attack was a "risk." He demurred on commenting on the killing of Ayatollah Khomeini because he stated people in Dearborn support him.

with one caveat, the "sociopathic defense lawyer" is good for society, because they provide the stiffest test for the state's case. the caveat is some lawyers engage in overt dishonesty/fraud on the court/sanctionable conduct, and that's not good for anyone.
I am in theory fine with defense attorneys who understand they have a solemn, complicated role to play in the system. A lot of them however tend to seem to border somewhere between titillated by the job and outright pro-crime/criminal.

🇺🇸 Los Angeles, United States, has its own consular corridor along Wilshire Boulevard. Many countries share office towers between Westwood and Koreatown. The map shows 75 countries and entities, with more distant offices outside the frame.

this is a second amendment issue i must confess I haven't thought much about. so i will kick it to my followers: what do you think?
NEW: The Fifth Circuit ruled that a federal law restricting the interstate manufacture, transportation, and distribution of switchblade knives violates the Second Amendment, holding that switchblades are constitutionally protected arms.

Versant spokesperson just texted that the WNBA Finals Game 2 on USA Network and CNBC averaged 1.33M viewers.
Agreed. 2.1M is a great start for Game 1 up against college football! It’ll be interesting to see if the next few games of the WNBA Finals can reach or beat some of the better viewership numbers this season (3.31M is the best) and two first-round playoff games of 2.11M & 2.25M.

Folks, the reason why Palestinian Cause types keep on getting asked if Israel has a right to exist, is because many folks in the Palestinian Cause want to eliminate Israel and reverse 1948, and think the Jews are settler colonialists who shouldn't be there.

And as I said the other day, if Palestinian Cause types want to use their newfound power in the Democratic Party to have an influence on policy, they have to grow up and admit the Jews are going to have a Jewish majority state which the US has friendly relations with.

That's not fun for people who have spent their lives edgelording on this issue, espousing radical chic, or appealing to Islamist and Leftist anti-semites, and pretending the Jews can be driven out. But it's part of becoming a political grown-up.
