Smashing 50th edition of @SWWEC1 just landed in the in-box ... I wasn't attracted to any particular articles MUCH. 😂 Hastings, Stirling, and a lovely piece about Stanley Hope (PRU), flying from RAF Benson. Great job by the team, as always. @SpitfireAA810 @authordlewis

Many thanks to the SWWEC for supporting us. We immensely benefitted from your historical knowledge. Thanks also for lending us props & clothing, ensuring the performance’s accuracy! Lastly, thanks for letting us have memoirs from your invaluable collection for research purposes!
Memoirs of a POW - an excellent must-see production by Christiana Gregoriou & George Rodosthenous.
Looking forward to attending!

It’s not a candidate for @TerribleMaps but by heavens it’s close. Definitely traced in the dark. At the last minute. With a blindfold on.
Not sure what the ‘worst map of the war’ is, mind. 🤔

Something to fill the gap between grown-up podcasts: me and @AndyAitcheson talking war and words as we dive into the daily newsletter of the 52nd Lowland Division.
Laydiesungennulmen ... @The_Lowlander.
🏴 Shared on the battlefield, stored in the archives, The Lowlander was a newsletter sent out to men of the 52nd Lowland Division every day from November 1944 to May 1945.

I knew him, post war they were the local coalmen, and used to drink in Grandads pub on Sunday afternoons.
His brother Tommy, was a RE sapper, and they met up in Tripoli.

Fabulous review by @DavidMarkHerman of The English GI: World War II Graphic Memoir in today's Jewish Chronicle. All the more poignant as my grandfather was a huge admirer and supporter of David's late father, the painter, Joseph Herman. @JewishChron. tinyurl.com/4cyf5u3a
