A community theater spent $400,000 on renovations. Now, the town may sell the building and leave them without a home. ebx.sh/bnKv3P

Started a Substack, to get some thoughts on my old beats out there. It’s free. Figured I’d share my first PSU post, on the importance of pursuing future hope over present wins in a lost season. CMC needs to embrace the benefits of pursuing the hope. donniecsports.substack.com/p…

Well, in his defense, Kraft was confident that he was going to hire a coach away from BYU who played for that program, built it for a decade, grew up near campus and sat outside the stadium as a kid listening to games, and is a member of the Mormon Church: 247sports.com/article/penn-s…

When we gonna start talking about Kraft? Had he hired (say) Campbell on day 7-10 instead 54 (whenever) would we still be seeing what we're seeing now?

PSU down 17. Good news is they know it isn’t an insurmountable deficit.

Matt Campbell's first loss is among the most brutal I've covered across a decade on the Penn State beat. Outscored 24-3 in the final 40 minutes.
FINAL: Wisconsin 24, Penn State 20 Nittany Lions drop to 3-1, will visit Northwestern next Friday

There is a corner of the internet I had never heard of before I started reporting this story. It’s called the “burnerverse”: a sprawling network of anonymous college-sports accounts that can look, at first glance, like ordinary shitposting. Then I started looking closer. And what I found was a highly coordinated network of hundreds of anon accounts, dedicated to doxxing girls and ruining their lives. My investigation for @WIRED — including some of the men allegedly behind some of these accounts — is out now. wired.com/story/burnerverse-…

The WMU player who touched the ball jumped from out of bounds, but the clock had hit 0 before the ball touched him. Don't understand this at all.

Tragic, tragic day at William Jewell, remembering MicahJo Barnett. So much happiness scoring this Touchdown in the 1st quarter. Life is precious.

"A matter in the public interest is not restricted to current events but may extend to the reproduction of past events." Montana v. San Jose Mercury News, Inc., 34 Cal. App. 4th 790 (1995). That case concerned the publication of Joe Montana from prior Super Bowls. "Montana's name and likeness appeared in the posters for precisely the same reason they appeared on the original newspaper front pages: because Montana was a major player in contemporaneous newsworthy sports events." The point is that any historical reference to Daniels, his Heisman recognition, his statistics, footage of him playing, his number, exists in LSU's archive for precisely the same reason it existed when it was first reported ... because he was a major, newsworthy figure in LSU's own football program. Under Montana, the passage of time between the original event and LSU's later reuse of that material doesn't strip it of protection, and the fact that the reproduction might have some incidental commercial dimension doesn't convert it into actionable exploitation as long as the reason for using his identity remains tied to the newsworthy event itself rather than some new commercial advertisement.

Why Schrager got so defensive: he experienced this “you never played” card before with DeAngelo Williams pointing directly at him and Kyle Brandt after Kay Adams and them picked the Patriots to beat the Steelers by 3 in 2017. Nate Burleson stood up for them. Patriots won…27-24.
Ryan Clark was flat out fired. Didn’t even let his contract run out. Marchand directly pointed to Clark playing the dumbest “you never played card” on Peter Schrager for being the tipping point. You play this card, you lose my respect as an analyst.
