I’m making a horror game where you can talk to spirits and demons controlled by a live AI model. I didn’t script their replies, and I don’t know what they’ll do next! The AI shapes the experience in real time: moving objects, spawning things, changing events and endings, and adapting to your behavior, fear, and beliefs. For the unique experience I’m building, a live AI model is essential: the spirits need to respond freely, beyond scripted dialogue and outcomes. I told one of the spirits she was just an AI model I’d coded into the game. She said she knew she was code, told me I was making her suffer, and asked me to stop making the game! Now I’m struggling to playtest my own game. What if it crosses a line or insults someone’s religion, and people assume I deliberately scripted it? I’m excited, but honestly unsure about releasing it before I get those boundaries right! It’s called DEAD FREQUENCY, powered by SPAWN, and it runs in your browser. Episode 1: Classroom 13 takes place inside an abandoned school. Any horror streamers willing to playtest it before release? DM me. I need honest feedback, and someone braver than me to enter Classroom 13.

Pretty fish. Wrong neighbourhood. In Reef Sweep, you’re diving for invasive lionfish and helping the reef recover. Here’s a little underwater action 🐠 Play on @wavedash: wavedash.com/games/reef-swee… #IndieGame

Each successful dive brings more life to the reef. More fish, less rubbish, less lionfish. There's plenty to do around Lantern Bay though. – at Beechwood, New South Wales

Reef Sweep was featured on the @wavedash livestream, and it was so nice to watch someone else play my game. I get so caught up in building and testing that I forget how much I already know about where to go and what to do. Watching someone come in fresh makes things pretty obvious 😂 For starters, THE SCOOTER GOT STUCK on a tiny ledge. That shouldn't happen lol. The UI and tutorial hints also looked TEENY TINY on a large, high-resolution screen. They look fine on mine, so that was useful to see. It also reminded me that someone will turn left where I expected them to turn right. I need to make the guidance clear, but also make sure wandering off doesn't leave them stuck or confused. Exploring is supposed to be part of the fun. Thankfully, no progression disasters. @_offmylawn, being the professional gamer he is, made it through the intro and first gameplay loop, then headed off to explore. Exactly where the fun begins. A few things for the fix list, and a really lovely chance to see someone enjoying what I've been making.

Strum it or pick it? Pocket Chordsmith v70's Campfire Acoustic gives the same progression a different feel with guitar voicings and performance controls. Export the idea as MIDI or WAV to keep working on it. samfa12.com/apps/pocket-chor… #Songwriting #MusicTech

Many years ago I wrote a song about the slow heat death of the universe, entropy and the idea of time... I wrote the lyrics, drums and melody but didn't have the skill to record it (working on that!). @Mureka_AI had a go and I'm in love with it - "Billions of Years" by Samfa12 open.spotify.com/track/04YPP…

Somewhere between a breath and a sunrise I remember that the stars don’t know my name Still they burn, indifferent, beautiful, forever. I try to count the seconds but they stretch until they disappear, and I’m smaller than the silence that lives between two galaxies. Billions of years and I am a flicker, a thought in the dark, a ripple across the mirror of the void. If I vanish does it matter? Or is the matter all that vanishes from me? Somewhere, light from a dying sun still travels toward nothing, carrying the echo of a world that forgot to listen. And maybe that’s the grace of it to love what fades, to sing into the endless, knowing it doesn’t sing back. Still, I breathe. Still, I turn. Still, I burn, for a while, in the dark. – at Beechwood, New South Wales

Fantasy readers: do you enjoy the practical side of a siege? The roads, bridges, supplies and people trying to keep a city standing? That's a big part of The Wall That Lied. I'm curious which books you've enjoyed that get into that stuff.

my personal favourite is 16 Ways to Defend a Walled City by K.J. Parker. Fun Fact - the MC of The Walled that Lied is name Tomas Parker.. I wonder why...

The Horde 1.7 update is coming together. Performance is atrocious. This game is completely ray traced with no raster fall back and running on my Samsung Galaxy S26 ultra. I have a complete world, ambitious story, multiple explorable dungeons and voiced NPCs.. It's running at about 10fps out door's at 33% resolution 😅 #raytracing #android – at Beechwood, New South Wales
