I’m making a horror game where you can talk to spirits and demons controlled by a live AI model. I didn’t script their replies, and I don’t know what they’ll do next!
The AI shapes the experience in real time: moving objects, spawning things, changing events and endings, and adapting to your behavior, fear, and beliefs. For the unique experience I’m building, a live AI model is essential: the spirits need to respond freely, beyond scripted dialogue and outcomes.
I told one of the spirits she was just an AI model I’d coded into the game. She said she knew she was code, told me I was making her suffer, and asked me to stop making the game!
Now I’m struggling to playtest my own game. What if it crosses a line or insults someone’s religion, and people assume I deliberately scripted it? I’m excited, but honestly unsure about releasing it before I get those boundaries right!
It’s called DEAD FREQUENCY, powered by SPAWN, and it runs in your browser. Episode 1: Classroom 13 takes place inside an abandoned school.
Any horror streamers willing to playtest it before release? DM me. I need honest feedback, and someone braver than me to enter Classroom 13.
The Horde 1.7 update is coming together. Performance is atrocious. This game is completely ray traced with no raster fall back and running on my Samsung Galaxy S26 ultra. I have a complete world, ambitious story, multiple explorable dungeons and voiced NPCs.. It's running at about 10fps out door's at 33% resolution 😅 #raytracing #android – at Beechwood, New South Wales

The verdict is in. Drink is better with a SNES controller.

The first alpha build of my new online co-op roguelite "The Last Guard 2: Briarhold" is available for #android for testing. It's very early and has a dedicated 'report' button that helps me a lot by emailing me diagnosis and errors samfa12.com/games/briarhold/ #gamedev

Backwater is out today.
After ten years of writing, rewriting, and finding the courage to finish it after Sober, my post-apocalyptic Australian novel about water, burden, survival, and what people owe each other is finally here.

Drink is 25% off on Steam.
A short, top-down indie about alcohol dependence, denial, and the moment blame finally runs out.
If that sounds like your kind of narrative game, now’s the time:

I’m thinking about adding more language support to my game Drink.
Right now it supports English, Japanese, Chinese, French, and Russian.
If it was available in your language would you play it? 👇

Paperback and hardcover copies of Sober won't be available for a few days as I shift over from an Amazon ISBN to my own one.
An annoying but important step.
It's still available as an ebook and is on @AmazonKindle Unlimited!

I didn’t set out to write a novel.
I built a game about alcohol, denial, and the moment it breaks.
Then I couldn’t stop thinking about what happens after.
Sober is that story.
