The police labor contract expires in eight months.
The police union is going to try pressuring Nithya into massive raises. They’ll come to her saying, “if you give us big raises we’ll leave you alone for four years and let you govern. We’ll even endorse you.”
Fuck that. Don’t let Nithya bend. Put more pressure on her than the union does. Use your platform/voice to inform people about what’s at stake.

Bass could have coasted in Congress for the next 2 decades & lived the geriatric DC dream. My main beef w/ her had nothing to do w/ performance, ideology, or accomplishments. It was her underming all charter reform efforts that could have given her/LA a better chance at success.

This tweet is 100% factual.
Karen, Hugo & LA Fed pulled some bullshit against her and it backfired in the long term. If Jamie was hamstrung on Ethics, Karen would have won reelection. That’s a straight fact. People have no idea how much impact she had behind the scene over last few years.
LA County Dems apologizing to Nithya:

Congrats @nithyavraman.
Tonight, Los Angeles has sent a powerful message: they are ready for change, ready for a new generation of leadership, and ready to move beyond a broken status quo that has failed to deliver for too many Angelenos.
