WTI crude averaged $98/bbl in 2014.
That’s $772/bbl inflation adjusted to 2029.
Oil is still cheap.

David Eby's cynical snap election call is completely BACKFIRING as BC Conservatives are projected to win a massive majority.
This is absolutely beautiful.

$PEI $PEI.V management when vendors ask to receive payment for services rendered and shareholders ask what value a riverboat marketing conference holds @Prospera_Energy
They're just making shit up now 😂
Prospera only has one well in LSD 7 SEC 33 *anywhere*, and it has been producing since 2025.
The desperation gets funnier by the day.
Luseland 7-33 | Shut in since 2017 after historically producing 60–65 bbl/d.
Prospera is targeting restored production through enhanced oil recycling, upgraded pump capacity, and improved sand management. $PEI.V
Put it in the fkn Louvre.

I think there's an important distinction to be made between "having good assets, a well run business, and being attractively priced in the equity markets" -- and "being the next CNRL". Cenovus and Suncor fall in to this category, absolutely, especially if you're looking for upstream duration.
CNRL is CNRL because they execute unlike anyone else. Compare their acquisition of Chevron Canada vs. Cenovus' acquisition of Athabasca. Because I can't share my estimates on here, I'm using street consensus delta preceding/following the deal. CNRL paid 25% less in a $65-70 price environment than Cenovus paid in a $80-90 price environment, for oil sands/Duvernay assets.
Cenovus will have to invest material cashflow to realize the full potential from the Athabasca assets while CNRL's purchase was self funding. Cenovus will make out well with their acquisition, but it wasn't a CNRL-esque one. They're executing different playbooks. So is Suncor, though I'd say they're closer to CNRL than Cenovus.
My problem isn't really that any of these companies lack any merit individually... they're just... not CNRL.
