Highlights from the Southern Knights meeting as we hosted @echwalu and @maureenagena - The urge to go beyond borders kept trickling me and the first trip to Botswana was inspired by a movie Gods Must Be Crazy. Moreen - Inspiration has been to take a break try something different another Inspiration was to learn more about African countries. There is so much to learn, adapting to different climates, being isolated as a foreigner, going to a country where u can’t speak the language. - It takes courage to leave your home and go to a place which you are not conversant with, when we talk about perseverance, we were crazy enough to try and do this thing. - One thing we learnt about resilience was learning that we shall not let anyone spoil this trip. We learnt to treat police checks with grace and purposed to travel during the day. - We realized that there are no black travelers. At some point we became the tourist attraction. - We have made friends on this trip that we would have never ever made and being hosted by strangers which showed us the spirit of Ubuntu. - We were at the verge of boarding a bus back home due to financial constraints but we had come a long way and we had so many people cheering us on that we could not disappoint them. There is too much to share which we can do in the 30minutes of this meeting but our last message to you South-knights and guests please travel and get this experience.
