Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. If there is no struggle, there is no progress.

I genuinely didn’t know who he was before I joined the Green Party. I only know now because his head pops up at critical times to undermine the leader everyone knows. The irony.
🚨 NEW: Green MP Adrian Ramsay will go public on Sunday to criticise Zack Polanski's leadership and claim the party been taken over by pro-Palestinian activists who have replaced its environmental values

George Orwell was literary editor of Tribune UK authorities had him under intense surveillance as he researched The Road to Wigan Pier in February 1936 It appears they had a human source close to Orwell. They were also screening his mail + trailing him as he reported for the book (published a year later)

The 50 wealthiest families own more wealth than the poorest 34 *million* people. The problem is not a pensioner or a young person looking for a job - the problem is wealth inequality. We need a wealth tax. Now.

Bit of a dive into the context of that performance last night, and some of the positives in the numbers from young Nyoni.
Latest piece from me on a stand-out performance from young Trey Nyoni that announced his arrival as first team player: halfspacehacks.substack.com/…

Some really good stuff last night. Great chat about an enjoyable result...then someone has to go and spoil it by suggesting playing Darwin Nunez as a full-back.

A clear and consistent pattern all over the white people world: very right wing criminals trying to maintain their grip on power by claiming election fraud and foreign interference, as well as secret Bolshevik plots orchestrated with domestic and foreign racial enemies.

This is the Israeli opposition: demanding Palestinians endorse the Nakba and the Israeli ethnostate and that they participate in the genocide of their own people.

Ending neoliberalism is saying “let’s end neoliberalism” while continuing to impose it. Ending the genocide is saying “Palestine protesters were right” while continuing to arrest them and arm a genocide. Anyone falling for this is either paid or a chump.

contradictions under capitalism are heightening, parasitic capital in the imperial core refuses to make even the smallest concessions to the working class w modest social democracy. abdul isn’t even a socialist, and yet the media still considers his populist demands a bridge too far. we must continue to organize. soon big tech & the remaining us business tyrants will have a big decision to make; will they continue the democratic experiment, or will they see fascism as the only stable path for continued extraction. to the third world our impact has been violent and destabilizing, but now, imperialism will turn inward - we must fight back against it. this will be an existential struggle.
"Do you worry [Abdul El-Sayed] is a bit too left wing to win in Michigan?" Michigan voter "At this point what do we have to worry about? Anything but what we have. We're on our way to hell so at this point socialist, socialise, social, dont matter to me, lower my cost of living"

Yesterday, I was barred from entering the West Bank by Israeli officials, as part of a @ProgIntl delegation. What's happening here in Palestine is unjust. We've just witnessed what Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and many others have called a genocide unfold in Gaza. We came here to show the world, and to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. The Israeli government didn't allow that.

Today Israeli authorities barred me and other European elected representatives from entering the West Bank to meet Palestinian students and civil society leaders, as part of a @ProgIntl delegation. We knew that by crossing into the occupied Palestinian territories, we risked being detained, interrogated and turned away by Israeli authorities. And that, alas, is exactly what happened. For more than eight hours, we were held, interrogated and made to feel as though we had done something wrong simply by attempting to enter. The simple truth is we had done nothing wrong. We went to show our support for the Palestinian people and highlight the terrible injustice and violence being perpetrated against them. We want to ensure that people back home do not look away from the reality of what is happening. Ultimately, we went to show solidarity. But we left with an even greater determination to speak out. We will not be silenced, and we will not look away. None of us should.
