What's happening now in the stock market is more than just a "correction in tech stocks."
Sure, AI CapEx concerns are legitimate and investors will always care about profitability.
But, there's more beneath the surface here.
The reality is that the market is pricing-in a major shift in the political landscape of the US.
Over the last 12 months, market expectations for a Democrat "sweep" of the US Midterm elections have tripled.
Over the last 45 days alone, these expectations are up +30 percentage points.
As it stands, markets themselves now see a near-80% chance of a Democrat "sweep" of the US Midterm elections.
President Trump has already vowed to become "Mr. Veto" if this in fact does happen.
This is post is not political, it's objective. A change in the political landscape always comes with uncertainty; markets hate uncertainty.
Objectively, the market is in the process of pricing-in two years of political gridlock.
Could this change? Of course. But markets price-in the most probable outcome, and the odds now overwhelmingly favor the aforementioned scenario.
Tomorrow sets the stage for the next two years.

Iâm heartbroken to learn that a child in Lewis County has died from measles. My heart goes out to their family and everyone who knew and loved them.
This is New Yorkâs first measles-related death in 30 years, a devastating reminder of whatâs at stake when Washington deliberately erodes decades of progress in protecting Americans from preventable diseases.
Vaccination remains our best protection against the heartbreak of another family losing a child to measles.

Tick Tock --> How Trump put the Senate in play
- Picked JD Vance as his running mate, opening up tough expensive special election that GOP could lose. DeWine appointed Husted, who originally wanted to run for governor. Close race that wouldn't have been up til '28 otherwise
- Tangled with Tillis over healthcare cuts in 2025, prompting his retirement. Thune said then Tillis "knew how to run and win in North Carolina." Trump cleared field for Whatley, who is down by large margin.
- Cold-shouldered Cornyn then backed Paxton. Cornyn: âTexas was an unforced error, I think, on the part of the president... if I won the nomination, then that would be a layup in November. Thatâs all off the table.â
- Backed Sen. Darline Graham in crowded SC race, most senators thought she'd be an interim senator. Now in toss-up race against Annie Andrews with state GOP divided. Andrews: "Darline was going to be easier for me.â
- Tried to oust Kemp in '22; when Georgia race came up this cycle, Kemp passed on the race. Trump backed Rep. Mike Collins over Kemp's pick Dooley, now huge underdog to Sen. Ossoff
- Tariffs, filibuster pressure and of course, the Iran War: âEvery negative for the GOP this cycle is a downstream effect of Iran"

This sentence has 53 words.
Roughly 22 of them qualify or water down the central, discredited claim of voter fraud in California.
Replying to @KlasfeldReports
I have been reliably informed that I undercounted the weasel words embedded inside the Trump regime's discredited claims of noncitizen voting in California.
Here is the revised screenshot of the clunky sentence submitted to the Supreme Court.

ALT In this case, this Office has been informed that the United States has identified more than 20,000 individuals who appear to be registered to vote in California based on publicly available information at the time that information was received, but who, in the United Statesâ view, are likely not U.S. citizens.
