I came, I saw, I conquered I started running at 5:00am and didn't stop for 31 hours. 100 miles and 15,500 in elevation gain later, the job is done. So many learnings from it, but I just wanted to say thank you for the love yesterday

ManageSpace -> self storage infra

There are now two kinds of self storage operators: 1. Those who wait on a vendor roadmap for features changes and updates. 2. Those who describe what they need and run it in the same day. The difference isn't AI. Everyone has AI. The difference is whether your system of record was built to be built on.

This entire framework in self storage property management software is about to collapse. Operators are forced to run their business on software product built by a vendor. Want a new feature? Email a request to the vendor. Vendor won't built it? Maybe theres another product i can plug into the FMS to wire around it. In storage this is especially painful because the workflows and processes are the secret sauce. The vendors that win from here will enable operators to build their own apps, workflows and processes without constraint in natural language. Features ship as you describe them. You are only constrained by what you can describe. @managespace_

I'm hiring a Managing Director of Asset Management at @dxd_capital — this person will report directly to me. It's a rare seat: own the performance of every operating asset, be a primary face to our capital partners, 3rd party managers, AND help stand up our own internal property management capabilities. If you live and breathe self-storage operations and want to build (not just maintain), let's talk. Denver-based. Tag someone great or DM me. 👇

My favorite detail is the 1922 penny mounted above the front door That was the year her great grandfather was born Someday I’ll explain how profound of a person he was, but until then she can wonder why it’s on there

A thing of beauty

When I was young I watched my grandfather build a dollhouse from scratch He gave it to my sister on Christmas and the time it took to make always left an impression on me Now it’s my turn to do it for my daughter This is two months in and I’ll need everyday until Christmas to get it done right

It’s that time of year
