Very ungrateful people. Without the intervention of our forefathers, the “Zambian founding families” would still be at Statehouse. Elo to be honest, there’s nothing extraordinary that HH has done that warrants this chat. The country is not short of capable people after him and we will definitely stumble on better.

They are telling us the removal of term limits will not affect our rights to elect a leader of our choice. So, if at any point we are stuck with a bad leader, we can easily vote him/ her out. What advocates for this narrative are forgetting is that elections are not easy to win. In most cases, they have very little to do with how brilliant one is. HH, considering how smart he spoke during his time in opposition and how he seemed to be a better alternative, he lost elections 5 times, surely that should tell you something. Don’t come here telling me that one day, we will be able to get rid of an “Idi Amin” kind of leader in 5 years, through the ballot. You people joke a lot. It’s all rosy now, one day it won’t be, the term limit is a safeguard we should all be trying to protect. We aren’t short of manpower in this country. What we should be discussing at this point, noting that this “could be” HH’s last term is the establishment of good systems that will allow for continuity of good government projects and strict implementation of our national development goals. The UPND should have been grooming a suitable successor as we speak. Government is not a sole proprietorship where one man is expected to carry the country’s vision. Even the people of Mporokoso will agree with me on this one, I am certain. 😂
