the online safety movement doesnt need to be killed off, it needs to be reverted to what it was over a decade ago, dont give out private info, especially not IDs and random face scans to anyone who asks, stay private for your own safety
Now that VRChat made face tracking accessible on desktop, I'm gonna figure out how to get face tracking to work on VRChat via webcam.
No longer will I pay for expensive hardware just for face tracking to work.

WTF repeal this unconstitutional law now. Repeal all age verification laws. Age verification laws violate the First and Fourth Amendments. There don’t protect anyone.
Alabama passed a law, 138 votes to nothing, that makes every phone user in the state prove their age before downloading a single app.
A 45-year-old who wants a news app has to hand ID to Google first. Existing accounts get no pass either. Every one of them must be verified by October 2027.
Teenagers will need a parent’s sign-off to install Wikipedia, Duolingo or a Bible app, and kids without a parent to ask get locked out completely.
Apple, Google and Amazon’s lobby group has now sued to block it on First Amendment grounds.

ive only had 1–2 over the past two months, but their support alone have helped sustain me financially, keeping me afloat after finishing my master's studies while i continue seeking for employment in this rough times.
Reddit stock got absolutely crushed, dropping 21.84% to $101.50 after its Q4 outlook disappointed investors.
And this happened despite a pretty strong Q3:

>Net income jumped 74% to $283 million.
EPS reached $1.40, beating expectations of $1.33.
Reddit says search referrals have been declining, partly due to Google’s AI-powered search changes.
CEO Steve Huffman also warned that daily active users could fall by a low double-digit percentage in Q4 if the trend continues.

Still waiting for that native face tracking update on the SDK to get out of beta...
When it does, I'll consider face tracking as an add-on in the future on VGen. It is only available to desktop players using webcam (unless your headset has face tracking).

At what point should I call it quits? Over 5 months of applying and not a single interview. So damn demoralising and makes me feel I’m worth nothing. Waking up to rejection emails, sleeping to hopeful applications, hoping that i don’t wake up the next day to go through the same.
