The Potemkin Party continues to double down on its campaign of war and unremitting hostility against Eritrea by dwelling on revisionist historical narratives and the deplorable denigration of Eritrea's legitimate, decades-old, process of decolonization achieved through unparalleled and precious sacrifices. In this vein, one of PP's official mouthpieces - Fana Broadcasting Corporation - disparages, on its X account today, Eritrea's overall development policy and what it dubs as "stagnation of Assab". Furthermore, it laments the loss of "Ethiopia's Red Sea coastline", due, in its warped mind, "to conspiracy of external adversaries". These pitiful diatribes are symptomatic of the incurable war psychosis that has gripped the Potemkin Party for years now. Indeed, it is obvious that the PP will require massive reconfiguration in its mindset/soft-ware for reason and sanity to prevail. As it is, the antidote for its multi-layered malaise does not lie in the propagation of revisionist history; and/or in the flagrant violation of foundational pillars and principles of international law. The fact is: 1. A regime that is presiding over an ailing economy where 68.7% of the population are classified as "multidimensionally poor" (WB terminology) in spite of massive international assistance; and, 2. That is seething under interminable internal costly conflicts of its own making; is not in a position to pontificate to its neighbours about astute development policy or the fostering of good-neighborly ties anchored on mutual respect of each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity. xitter.cf/hawelti/status/1970139…
The obsession/political frenzy of PP (aka Potemkin Party) officials to manufacture a non-existent regional crisis in pursuit of toxic and illicit "sovereign access to the sea" is perhaps at its zenith these days. The barrage of daily disinformation/provocation whose hallmarks are: i) stale revision and distortion of Eritrea's history (statements at Ceremony on "Promotion" of the regime's top military brass on Saturday); ii) willful intent to tamper with cardinal principles of international law, including the sanctity of colonial boundaries; and, iii) reckless saber-rattling; belie the misguided priorities of a regime bent on incubating regional crises to deflect attention from its multiple domestic challenges. The Horn of Africa Region does not need or deserve another bout of unnecessary and avoidable conflict and turmoil; afflicted as it is by a plethora of other debilitating problems. This is the unequivocal message that should be conveyed - in no uncertain terms - by all those who harbour sincere wishes for the welfare of the peoples of the region. xitter.cf/hawelti/status/1965070…

#Ethiopia is burning 🔥 # StateCollapse #Anarchy everywhere The military convoy shown below in the picture is not a foreign army invading Ethiopia or a Nat’l Army going to the border to defend the sovereignty of the country from foreign aggression. It is a regional paramilitary force from Oromia (backed by so called Eth-Nat’l defense force) assaulting a neighboring region (Somali); both are within the bounds of same fragile country (named Ethiopia), which is in danger of disintegration due to lack of a strong but peaceful central govt to keep peace, law and order!! This painful and sad situation is taking place all around, across the country! It is the result of an incompetent, corrupt, militarized and weak regime; which prays on dividing its own people and on unleashing all sorts of conflicts between them (involving ethnic, religious, border and identity)! In one region alone (in Oromia) it has organized numerous paramilitary and fascistic groups (named Gadda, Gashena Sirna, Liyu Hail, Aba Tore etc); whose main purpose is to suppress and quell popular anger, frustration and unrest; massacre innocent citizens; including Christians, Muslims, Amharas, Gurages, Somalies, Oromos and others; burn 🔥 their homes, dislocate thousands of mothers, fathers and children and starve them to death. When we say Ethiopia is burning 🔥 and is in danger of disintegration, we are not exaggerating! It is a bitter truth! Currently, there are major conflicts and wars, literally in all regions of the country (including Oromia, Amhara, Tigray, Somali, Afar, Gambella, Beni Shangul and others); all directly or indirectly managed and orchestrated by the apartheid regime, led by gang leaders @AbiyAhmedAli @ShimelisAbdisa @AdanechAbiebie and brutal and corrupt generals!! The country is not slowly but in a frighteningly faster pace falling apart! Hundreds, if not Thousands of innocent Ethiopians perish every day by drones, senseless killings, evictions, hunger and govt led violence! Many are crying for help! The regime continues to forcefully snatch thousands of innocent young men and teenagers from their moms, streets, social centers and circles and force them to go to military training camps for a crash course to be cannon fodder in its losing battles! Thousands have died, their corpses left behind; scattered every where in battle fields, mountains and jungles around the country! The lucky ones are caught by the rebels as captives, and spare their lives by going back to their homes, mothers and families, thanks to the rebel’s humanitarian practices, who respect Intl war rules & standards, unlike the brutal regime! Unless, this inhuman and backward fascist regime falls sooner than later; Ethiopia is destined to the worst, perhaps to an all out civil war engulfing the country and complete disintegration; which is clearly in the making! God forbid, if that happens, the repercussions will be dire, severe and huge not only for Ethiopia but for the entire HOA Region! Its impact will definitely be felt by the international community and the powerful states including US, China and Europeans! Therefore, we urge everyone to intervene and save Ethiopia and the HOA region from burning 🔥 chaos and destruction! The situation is so dire with the potential to be much worse than what has been unfortunately happening in the Sudan! Imagine what would follow in HOA if the two or three dire situations are combined into a single and powerful force involving many neighboring and far away actors to join the volcano and the epicenter!! God save Ethiopia and the HOA region as a whole to bring peace, security and stability for millions of innocent people 🙏 @SecRubio @USEmbassyAddis @UNHumanRights @EU_Commission @AsstSecStateAF @_AfricanUnion @ReutersAfrica @AJEnglish @BBCAfrica @CNNAfrica @NeaminZeleke @HOAAffairs @AndargachewTse2 @EmbassyEritrea @berhanenega @AmbStesfamariam @AmericaEthiopia

ABIY’S BORROWED RHETORIC AND BROKEN REALITIES An Affront to Heroes: Abiy Ahmed’s Mashujaa Day Address Rings Hollow By David Yeh …The resemblance is difficult to miss. Bynd Tigray and Amhara, accounts of killings, unrest and suffering across Ethiopia widely circulating on SM are distressing and sad. Yet PM Abiy Ahmed remains preoccupied with carefully staged appearances, promotional videos, grand projects and showcasing his travels. What a contrast. It demonstrates both a disregard for the suffering of his own people, and delusional conviction that appearances can conceal a country in turmoil. #Ethiopia
Ethiopia's history offers ample lessons about the power of propaganda. Abiy’s Reality vs. His Fantasy (aka Potemkin Party), watch these two video clips taken in the same country on the same day in #Ethiopia. Yesterday, innocent schoolchildren were attacked by a drone while attending classes, plunging the whole community into chaos and mayhem. Yet, on the very same day, in the very same country, the Prime Minister posted a heavily edited promotional video, complete with sound effects and slow-motion shots, wearing VR gear, showcasing an office for what he calls a Nuclear Energy Centre. What a cruel joke on the #Ethiopian people! While the country is engulfed in flames, and his government is busy beating the drums of yet another war against #Eritrea, Abiy is busy producing cinematic propaganda, posing in virtual-reality gear and selling fantasies. The contrast could not be more grotesque: innocent children face the horrors of war, while their Prime Minister plays in a virtual Reality world. #Ethiopia is burning in the real world. Abiy is busy marketing fantasy! @_AfricanUnion @ReutersAfrica @BBCAfrica @trtafrika @AlArabiya_Eng @AJEnglish

#Ethiopia’s main news agencies such as @fanatelevision and @ebczena are being used day in and day out to intoxicate the population with jingoistic, inflammatory messages about the Red Sea, a glorious and prosperous future through the occupation of Assab Port, the building of a navy, and so on. Yet these so-called media outlets remain tongue-tied while young men die or lose their eyes and limbs in the country’s major wars. Meanwhile, mothers and families across #Ethiopia are left in the dark, with no information about the fate of their children. How can the journalists live with themselves! There is no point to come up with a book of regret after the death and destruction of hundreds of thousands of people.

In an interview with CGTN, the unhinged and mercurial Getachew Redda resorts to his stock in trade: dwell on utter falsehoods to accomplish the specific task to which he is assigned at a given point in time. His political allegiance has shifted from one extreme to the other in the past three years; (He is even on record for saying that when he is tipsy, he is in favor of Tigray's independence). The link below enumerates some of the outlandish and disparaging labels he used to describe the Potemkin Party, and especially its leader; to whom he is aligned to now. As it is, his current diatribe against Eritrea falls in the same mold; the cheap mutterings of a notorious hireling! xitter.cf/hawelti/status/2070543…
The Potemkin Party is apparently seething under extreme desperation. It must indeed be at its lowest point; at the end of its tether so to speak! How else can one explain the monotonous, 35-minute long diatribe of lies and hollow allegations against Eritrea peddled by mercurial Getachew Reda (nominally, Adivsor to the Prime Minister) that was broadcast yesterday by the Ethiopian Broadcast Corporation (EBC) and other domestic media outlets. If the unhinged Getachew Reda is taken as a credible political analyst and a reference point, then the numerous insolent and outrageous remarks that he had made on various Tigrayan TV outlets, as well as his X Account, about the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed during the war in the Tigray Region must be accorded due credibility too. Indeed, some of his grotesquely disparaging statements on Abiy Ahmed and the Ethiopian army include: - "Abiy Ahmed is a political pigmy. Had Ethiopia been a normal country, he would have long been confined to a mental institution or spiritual cites of healing for the deranged"; - "Abiy Ahmed is delusional enough to believe and openly brag that his mother had told him, when he was seven years old, that she saw him, in her dream, being crowned as a King"; -" Abiy Ahmed is the epitome and example of little men who come to power by some accident of history and who subsequently create huge catastrophes"; -"Abiy Ahmed cannot lead a nation without reverting to endless deceptions"; - "He (Abiy Ahmed) has literally no education...but you cannot ask him how he claims that he has a PhD as he does not give you time for reasonable discourse"; - "Abiy Ahmed is the textbook example of national treason. As such, he has no moral high ground to speak about sovereignty"; - "Abiy Ahmed is a toxic weed that has grown in this nation"; - " (General) Birhanu Jula and others are not leading a capable army. They have lost the little military knowledge they had and are sheepishly taking orders from this mad leader. This anti-people army, which is blindly implementing Abiy Ahmed's war agenda, is entailing massive deaths among the civilian population and the youth"...etc... The rudderless Getachew Reda is indeed prone to making whimsical and contradictory statements on almost any issue depending on his unstable moods and ever-shifting political affiliations. Recently, as he struck an opportunistic alliance with the Federal Government and its PM on whom he was heaping endless insults, he has began to shamelessly disavow the political beliefs he had held for decades. In a recent interview, he quipped (referring to his old comrades): "There are many people who maintain that Tigray should be an independent nation. I also mull about that concept whenever I am tipsy!" His close associates confide that Getachew is tipsy or drunk from the late afternoon to the wee morning hours almost on a daily basis... This has in fact earned him the moniker :"Vodakchew". On a more sober note, how can one give serious weight to the excesses and irresponsible utterances of this political vagabond. In the event, there is no point in responding to all the vitriol that he has floated against Eritrea in his interview yesterday. We will thus focus on one fallacy: his preposterous assertion that "Eritrea was created, by conspiratorial forces, as an independent State in order to weaken and destroy Ethiopia". This spurious and revisionist claim is, of course, utterly false and deliberately peddled to rationalize and advance the Potemkin Party's wicked domestic agenda of agitation and mobilization for war. History otherwise attests to these indelible facts: 1. Eritrea was denied its inalienable right of decolonization in the late 1940s and "federated" with Ethiopia only because the US and other powers gave precedence to their perceived geopolitical interests. 2. The international community kept mum, again for similar political calculus, when the Ethiopian government unilaterally abrogated the "Federal Act" and annexed Eritrea in November 1962. 3. The Eritrean people and nation had to shoulder the heavy burden of national liberation for thirty long years and pay huge and unparalleled sacrifices. Throughout this period, virtually the whole world showed unconscionable apathy by failing to recognize and extend moral and material support to Eritrea's legitimate war of national liberation. In the meantime, Ethiopia which was ruled by the Emperor and the military junta that toppled him continued to receive massive military, economic and political support from diverse countries - the US, USSR, European Countries, Israel, several Arab and Asian countries, Cuba etc.. 4. The same pattern continued at various critical junctures in Eritrea's post independence period. The failure to take meaningful action against the Ethiopian regime when it reneged on its treaty obligations - essentially worked out under the facilitation of the the US, the EU, the UN and the OAU - and rejected the EEBC Arbitral Award to occupy sovereign Eritrean territories for almost two decades is a glaring illustration of the tendency of major powers, and the international community at large, to sacrifice legality and justice on the altar of narrow interests. 5. In all these decades, including in these critical times when the current regime is stoking the flames of war through its reckless agenda of "sovereign access to the sea", the "intensive care" accorded to Ethiopia has not diminished in any way. The IMF's 3 billion financial bailout that is underway; the EU's massive assistance, including recent budgetary assistance; individual bilateral support to Ethiopia from European, Asian, Middle Eastern countries...etc. corroborate this fact. 6. Indeed, by some accounts, Ethiopia has been the beneficiary of an aggregate 114 billion US dollars in the past three decades from multilateral and bilateral assistance. This pattern of huge and burgeoning assistance does not reek of, and cannot be misconstrued, by any stretch of imagination, as "some entrenched conspiracy to weaken and destroy Ethiopia". In brief, and as noted earlier, Getachew Reda's "analysis" can hardly be taken seriously on any subject. For the Potemkin Party to stoop too low to use his deranged analysis for "popular mobilization" only accentuates its utter desperation.

Potemkin Party's toxic/stale chorus is grotesquely on display again. In the link below, the official mouthpiece of the regime (Fana Broadcasting Corporation -Arabic) tries to package, in its news item today, the PP's declared war of aggression in fallacious "historical and strategic terms". 1. In the first place, Ethiopia cannot "reclaim ports and maritime route" that it never owned except during its illicit presence in the bogus "Federation" and annexation periods. Annexation and forceful occupation do not confer historical/legal title to the occupying entity. International law 101. 2. The Eritrean people had paid precious sacrifices when their right to decolonization was denied in the 1940s to satisfy overriding geopolitical interests of major powers. As a result, they had to undergo through Africa's longest liberation struggle to achieve their inalienable national rights and human dignity which should not have been denied in the first place. 3. In the event, to deny and denigrate Eritrea's independence constitutes yet another transgression and political blasphemy of the highest order. xitter.cf/fana_arabic/status/211…
