The Potemkin Party continues to double down on its campaign of war and unremitting hostility against Eritrea by dwelling on revisionist historical narratives and the deplorable denigration of Eritrea's legitimate, decades-old, process of decolonization achieved through unparalleled and precious sacrifices.
In this vein, one of PP's official mouthpieces - Fana Broadcasting Corporation - disparages, on its X account today, Eritrea's overall development policy and what it dubs as "stagnation of Assab".
Furthermore, it laments the loss of "Ethiopia's Red Sea coastline", due, in its warped mind, "to conspiracy of external adversaries".
These pitiful diatribes are symptomatic of the incurable war psychosis that has gripped the Potemkin Party for years now.
Indeed, it is obvious that the PP will require massive reconfiguration in its mindset/soft-ware for reason and sanity to prevail.
As it is, the antidote for its multi-layered malaise does not lie in the propagation of revisionist history; and/or in the flagrant violation of foundational pillars and principles of international law.
The fact is:
1. A regime that is presiding over an ailing economy where 68.7% of the population are classified as "multidimensionally poor" (WB terminology) in spite of massive international assistance; and,
2. That is seething under interminable internal costly conflicts of its own making;
is not in a position to pontificate to its neighbours about astute development policy or the fostering of good-neighborly ties anchored on mutual respect of each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The obsession/political frenzy of PP (aka Potemkin Party) officials to manufacture a non-existent regional crisis in pursuit of toxic and illicit "sovereign access to the sea" is perhaps at its zenith these days.
The barrage of daily disinformation/provocation whose hallmarks are:
i) stale revision and distortion of Eritrea's history (statements at Ceremony on "Promotion" of the regime's top military brass on Saturday);
ii) willful intent to tamper with cardinal principles of international law, including the sanctity of colonial boundaries; and,
iii) reckless saber-rattling;
belie the misguided priorities of a regime bent on incubating regional crises to deflect attention from its multiple domestic challenges.
The Horn of Africa Region does not need or deserve another bout of unnecessary and avoidable conflict and turmoil; afflicted as it is by a plethora of other debilitating problems. This is the unequivocal message that should be conveyed - in no uncertain terms - by all those who harbour sincere wishes for the welfare of the peoples of the region.

No Threats, No Forced Access: Cairo Draws the Red Line on Eritrea’s Sovereignty
Egypt and the UN Chief stress de-escalation, mutual agreement, and commercial access amid rising tensions in the Horn of Africa.
In Cairo, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty outlined discussions between President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and UN Secretary-General António Guterres on regional stability, escalating tensions in the Horn of Africa, and the threat of a possible military attack on Eritrea.
The message was clear: de-escalation must prevail, and maritime access must be built on mutual agreement not threats or force.
Abdelatty emphasized two fundamental principles for any military or maritime access arrangement: it must serve legitimate commercial purposes and be based on mutual understanding and agreement with neighboring countries.
At a time when rhetoric surrounding access to the Red Sea is raising concerns across the region, these principles carry particular weight. No country's pursuit of economic or strategic interests can justify undermining the sovereignty, territorial integrity, or security of its neighbors.
The Red Sea is a vital artery for regional and global trade. Its future should be shaped by cooperation, respect for international law, and peaceful agreements not intimidation, military adventurism, or imposed arrangements.
The discussions also addressed Egypt's water security and the long-running dispute over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). Abdelatty reiterated President el-Sisi's position that the right to development must be balanced with the fundamental right to life and existence, highlighting the need for a negotiated solution.
From maritime security to water security, Cairo's message points toward a fundamental principle: lasting stability cannot be built by threatening a neighbor's existence or disregarding its legitimate rights.
For the Horn of Africa, the choice remains clear: dialogue over confrontation, cooperation over coercion, and respect for sovereignty over dangerous ambitions.
Peace is built through mutual agreement. Sovereignty is not negotiable.

Netanyahu, speaking about his relationship with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed: "We have a very close relationship.. When he visited Israel, he told me jokingly: 'You know, I'm a Bibist!'"
Netanyahu's remarks reflect Addis Ababa's tendency to build partnerships that serve its own priorities, chiefly access to the Red Sea, including its 2024 memorandum of understanding with Somaliland, which Mogadishu rejected as a violation of Somalia's sovereignty. They also reflect its effort to balance against tensions with Egypt over the GERD.

ETHIOPIA: NOBEL PEACE PRIZE RECIPIENT STIRS UP TROUBLE IN THE HORN OF AFRICA
By Martin Zimmermann
Since early October, reports of an escalating threat of war in the Horn of Africa have dominated the headlines, with Ethiopia at the center of the growing tensions.
…There are three other landlocked countries in the world that maintain their own navies: Bolivia, Paraguay, and Laos.
…The time has come for the UN, the AU, and other influential actors on the international stage to take an unequivocal stand and make it clear to the Ethiopian government that respecting Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is not optional but an obligation under international law.
