I have one in @mcsweeneys today, co-written with the great Tom Ellison, in which we remember good old Howard Dean and that ancient time in American politics when getting excited and screaming at a rally was a campaign-ending gaffe.

I don’t want to hear any speeches about unity and working together. I want to hear how democrats are going to hold every last one of those freaks accountable for all the illegal shit they did.

House Democrats are in the fight to bring government back from the brink of authoritarianism. We will shine a light on President Trump's quid pro quo, coin-operated, pay-to-play corruption and renew American government as an instrument for the common good.

We want hearings.
We want subpoenas.
We want investigations.
We want whistleblowers.
We want journalistic exposés.
We want key defendants flipping.
We want indictments and convictions.
We want JUSTICE — and 100% actual accountability for ALL the corruption and crimes.

But it wasn't a crisis—It was an opportunity to lean into vulnerability and practice radical composure during an unexpected operational disruption in the workplace.
These moments remind us that true leadership is about navigating discomfort with grace, maintaining professionalism under pressure, and quickly pivoting to contingency protocols.
With my steady hand at the ship, others in the room were hardly bothered by the foul stench emanating from my pants

We are so close to the final end stage of the Trump era. One month from today, when the midterm elections are over, it begins. It has been more than 10 years that this man has dominated our politics and we are so close to him being gone.

Paul Murray’s “Bee Sting” ends with a page that has a single sentence on it, and it shifts the entire earth on its axis—but the masterful thing is that requires all 650 pages for context. It won’t mean anything if you skip ahead

this video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.
The John Milton translation of Paradise Lost is good.

Joyce do you have a preferred translation for Inferno or Paradise Lost? I am planning to read them in ‘26
My wife is a Ph.D. I love her for the passion, intelligence, and years of dedication it took for her to earn that degree. And something I love best about her after all these years is that she knows so many things I don’t know.

Honestly, this is how you attract strong and emotionally stable men. Guys who are husband material will think her PhD is awesome, and if they genuinely like her, they’ll be proud of all her accomplishments. She just weeded out so many losers.
