US Deficits are bad, and big. BUT -- they're not a real solvable problem until the the Dems are willing to claim they're a problem. And willing to accept some spending cuts to make Reps accept raising taxes (on the rich! but not w/o SALT deductions).

Educate yourself Kay.
Your lefty virtue-signalling about how bad our country’s history was may have been welcome on Sky News and at your Covid parties.
But the truth is that slavery- indefensible as it was- was the norm many centuries ago. The Romans, the Egyptians, the Dutch and even the Africans themselves all took part in the brutal trade.
And you should know that Brits were enslaved too. By the Romans, Irish, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and the Barbary cosairs.
Your ignorance wouldn’t be much comfort for the women imprisoned for months in freezing, brutal conditions, taken from their families by raiders on the British Isles in the 11th century.
If you need some help learning more, read my book, ‘Patriot: Empire, betrayal and hope’.
I’m sure your words would have been of great comfort to the women imprisoned for months in those stinking, cramped dungeons, taken out at the governor’s pleasure or left in the blistering sun without food or water if they resisted his advances, before being marched through the Door of No Return.

1. Razveljaviti predsedniške volitve (Romunija);
2. Ukiniti informativni program na nacionalni RTV (Madžarska);
3. Poslati policijo na Ustavno sodišče (Poljska);
4. Tri tedne pred volitvami poslati v zapor predsednika stranke, ki vodi v anketah (Slovenija);
5. Zasesti nacionalno RTV s policijo in zamenjati vodstvo (Poljska);
6. Prekiniti mandate vodstvu nacionalne RTV in izvesti čistko zaposlenih (Slovenija);
7. Poslati v zapor člane prejšnje vlade brez možnosti obrambe (Madžarska);
8. Podeliti skoraj milijon državljanstev ilegalnim migrantom po hitrem postopku (Španija);
9. Zapreti novo Nuklearno elektrarno in zgraditi plinovod do Rusije (Nemčija);
Fewer managers, whose job is to promote what what works best, with engineers who are making stuff which works, or not. Usually improving things. While managers usually increase paperwork & meetings about reports.
The dirty little secret to SpaceX’s success was never that they dispensed with all the crusty senior engineers at NASA and legacy aerospace in favor of hot shot 24 year olds. It was that they hired every single one of those crusty old senior engineers and dispensed with the broken managerial culture in big corporate aerospace. They got where they are by transplanting Prime talent into a Founder corporate stucture.

The miracle of economic growth.
India saw about 496 million people lifted out of poverty between 2011 and 2023 in one of the world’s fastest declines in this metric, the World Bank said, although the gains remain uneven. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

The question is why do these types of racists dominate our schools, our governments, and our institutions?
Look how the Smithsonian African American Museum ghosted our request for a public screening there because we ain’t the right kind of black.
We have to stand up to these racists.

A genius scientist gave a presentation where he claimed it was male scientists—not female scientists—that were being discriminated against on the part of universities, and his presentation led to his suspension from CERN and sanctions from the University of Pisa. But, ok, “this world only cares about men!”
Replying to @LisaBritton
Remember poor old Alessandro Strumia, an Italian theoretical physicist and a guest/invited scientist at CERN. In September 2018, at CERN’s first Workshop on High Energy Theory and Gender, he presented a bibliometric analysis of data showed that far from there being significant discrimination against women; instead, women were being hired and promoted with fewer publications and citations (and lower productivity metrics) than men in comparable positions.
He was suspended and then his contract was not renewed.
It's absolutrely blatant. A male professor told me that his female graduates could get research funding, but not him!

No cayó.

Bonfire of the Vanities has the best bit on criminal guilt.
Most defendants are obviously guilty.
The intelligent, sober-minded, and conscientious criminal is a cliché at the heart of so many fun movies that I sometimes wonder if people realize it’s totally fake and in the real world crime is almost all dumb guys with poor impulse control.

None of this seen in US media, at least not that I have found. It's an incredible story! Lesson I learned from four years of living in Europe is how shockingly indifferent (and political) US media is toward what's really happening in Europe ... if it violates the Narrative.

Misleading. The video has nothing to do with current events surrounding the Polish Constitutional Court. The footage was actually posted on YouTube on September 2026.

Part of Nigel Biggar’s article in The Sunday Times today, reminding us that a careful reading of history, by an historian who know what he’s talking about, is a big improvement on what too often passes for debate about slavery reparations.

The Washington Examiner gives "White Guilt" a stellar review:
"Born black, Jewish, and deaf, Eli Steele is a shoo-in for the oppression Olympics... Yet, raised by the formidable Shelby Steele, he understands himself as something more than an inventory of identities: an individual...
"Steele makes a persuasive case that the moral infantilization of favored groups has consequences well beyond American race relations...
"Steele's diagnosis is piercing." -- @Harry1T6 for @dcexaminer

Where is UN Women?
Communism always is done for the winning elites, the promises that are never achieved are just unicorn lies for the envious intellectuals & the gullible. Often an early target of the winners once they win the power struggle.
Our thought for the day, riffing a bit off of one of Pournelle's thoughts on peace:
"Communism" is the name of the alleged ideal we attribute to an oligarchy under which, by the cover of pleasant sounding political and social (and genetic) nonsense, that cannot bear objective close scrutiny, all power is gathered into the hands of a new, tiny, highly nepotistic, amorally familistic, corrupt and completely unprincipled ruling class, itself backed up by control over the means of information, a massive propaganda administration, unbounded by even a stunted sense of integrity, a lapdog judiciary, and a secret police with unreviewable powers of incarceration, enslavement, torture, life, and death, in order to advance themselves and their heirs under the lie of advancing mankind. Contrary to the common mantra, not only has it not "never been done right," it has _always_ been done _exactly_ right for its true purpose, cited above.

57% of government benefits fraud is committed by blacks. Would you have prefered that a white face be the representative of SNAP fraud? Would you have objected if it had been? (Of course not.)
This might surprise you, but blacks commit a hugely disproportionate amount of crime in the US, and every once in a while, someone somewhere gets up enough moral courage to stop pretending otherwise.
Why don't you object to most murderers and violent criminals in movies and TV being white, despite the fact that white rates of these (and other) crimes are usually far lower than those of blacks?
