It’s not prohibited, some states have rules like Nebraska where the incumbent may choose to specify each candidate’s hometown, or Nevada allows people to use an initial in lieu of their first name or include their middle initials if neither is the incumbent, but there’s no state that prohibits two people with the same name from running concurrently
