I've been building @dropstationapp, and I think it's time I started talking about it properly.
It's a platform I've been working on, and I'm genuinely excited about what it can become.
Let me tell you about it. 🧵

We just completed training Nerve-1, our first AI model built entirely from scratch.
Nerve-1 is a lightweight, ~34M-parameter model trained on over 23 billion tokens.
It’s designed for intelligent routing, deciding how much reasoning effort a task requires and directing it to the most suitable AI model.
It runs entirely on regular CPUs, making routing decisions in milliseconds. We estimate it could reduce our inference costs by at least 30%.
Rolling out soon to all businesses and users on @trydecideAI

Lagos Life launched on October 1st. Just 9 days later, over 4.7 million people have played the game.
Today, I’m excited to announce that Vatar, the parent company behind Lagos Life, has closed a $500K angel round led by AB Hassan (@ijbguy), Nathan Nwachuku (@_KingNath), and GB Agboola (@TechProd_Arch).
Lagos is just the beginning. We’re building entire worlds, and there’s so much more to come. 🌍

My Visit to the Nigerian Air Force Facility
Further to my message yesterday, I visited the Nigerian Air Force facility in Abuja today to formally sign the condolence register following the unfortunate aircraft crash.
The visit gave me another opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made daily by the men and women of our Armed Forces and other security agencies in the line of duty. These courageous Nigerians put their lives on the line to defend our nation and protect our people. We must never take their service and sacrifice for granted.
I extend my deepest condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of those who lost their lives.
May God grant eternal rest to the departed and give their families the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss.
May God continue to protect all those who serve our country. -PO

There's this faux elitism that comes with most Nigerian tech bros that I never wanted to be part of; not then, not now .
Those subtle competition -- everyone setting mic to give their next big announcement about the new job or gig they just had, or snapping their offices and doing those weird "day in the life" videos to show they've arrived.
Or speaking/writing in a certain way to show "exposure" and high earnings. Never been my style.
My style has always been authentic brashness. Speaking pidgin shouldn't make you forget how to write a function. Clearing someone's doubt once once is part of the spice of life.
Please this isn't 2021. This 'tushness' of wearing glasses and looking prim and proper while snapping your Macbook, as your country goes to ruins isn't what I subscribe to.
Boda @segun_os_, there's no department on X called "tech twitter" and I'm not looking to be in your clique. Earn your cool salary, work on your cool PC and focus on your life.
Life no hard my guy. Best wishes. ❤️🙏

Okay so Jev can actually do computer use really well
Without any screenshots, or LLMs and no Pixels leave my mac
I dont even read the Dom elements
A local CoreML model segments every button and UI element on screen.
On-device OCR reads the labels. That text is all Jev gets.
It returns a probability across those elements and tells me the best one to click.
Then it clicks, re-runs detection, and decides again. In a loop until the goal is done.
~90ms per decision. Faster than any LLM computer use I've tried.
Blazing fast computer use, without any latency
@typesafeai is building something really interesting
After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI?
I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev
• 20-200x faster
• 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free)
• Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions
AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution

I built a chat bot with jev, no LLM at all! Responses are instant, no hallucinations.
I hooked it up to web search, wikipedia, weather, todoist and home assistant.
Jev decides what tool to call and what args to use based on the prompt. Instant answers cite sources as well!

Earlier this year i built a desktop app (github.com/zfinix/another) that mirrors an android phone over usb.
Today I took the hardest part of it, the video decoder, and repurposed it for @try_aster Droid so the phone streams itself over the internet instead. full hd at 30-60fps, in any browser, anywhere.
