In 2024/25 the Wildlife Trusts had a £13Million surplus according to their accounts but it appears they couldn’t find money to complete the purchase. Please explain why taxpayers have had to put in £2M to buy this?
Delighted to confirm this Government has stepped in to secure the future of The Rothbury Estate as part of the campaign to protect it for future generations. This will be one of the biggest ever land purchases for nature in England👇

The fact that he's trying to pitch something and people are disrespectfully walking right in front of him... Not realizing that they are pre-emptively walking in front of the future worlds richest man and making as impactful pitch to humanity as he was in that moment.

I wanted to visualise Britain's state spending ahead of the Budget, so I've vibe coded an app which presents it as a disk drive. Take a look at the tradeoffs and see if you can make the budget fit: britains-disk.pages.dev

“We cannot credibly urge other countries to leave fossil fuels in the ground while greenlighting new oil and gas projects” Except they’re not leaving it in the ground but we are and then we’re buying theirs off them!! 🙄🙄
Pleased to sign this cross-party letter opposing Rosebank and Jackdaw licences. The long term costs of new drilling far outweigh any short-term gain. We cannot credibly urge other countries to leave fossil fuels in the ground while greenlighting new oil and gas projects.

If Wildlife Trust is taking over, with their reluctance to carry out any predator control, I can’t help but feel this will be the the beginning of the end for the curlew there.
The government is funding one of England's biggest land purchases for nature. £1.94 million to secure the future of The Rothbury Estate in Northumberland. @WildlifeTrusts will manage the estate for nature recovery. Learn more: wildlifetrusts.org/news/uk-g…

Individuals who have never ran a business’s unfortunately will never understand. They treat work like a one sided relationship. Running a business is significantly more difficult than working a job. This is something they cannot comprehend. That actually hiring someone is doing that individual and the economy a massive favour. Yet there’s very little appreciation. Minimum wage increasing is just 1, of many pressures businesses face on a daily basis. Running a business has been described as “learning to build a plane while flying it at the same time” If these pressure continue, business have 2 choices. 1) Close down because they become untenable 2) Figure out how to scale without people. Both solutions result in job losses. Both of them for the workers who complain are a disaster. Make it cheaper and easier to employee people and suddenly we’ll see the economy grow.
OH NO, PAYING SOMEONE TO WORK 40H FOR ME WILL COST SOMETHING

The pre-pandemic rate was £8.21/hour; £13.20/hour represents a more than 60% increase in five years. People keep saying businesses who can't pay it shouldn't employ people. So they're not.
EXCLUSIVE John Healey will announce plans to increase the minimum wage by nearly 4 per cent but slow the rise for young people after warnings that they are being priced out of jobs The Times has been told that the national living wage, which applies to those aged 21 and over, is expected to rise from £12.71 to around £13.20 — an increase of 3.9 per cent However, Healey has decided not to repeat the big rises of the past two budgets in the national minimum wage, which applies to those aged 18 to 21 It will rise broadly in line with the rate for older workers - from £10.85 to around £11.27, an increase of 3.9 per cent It effectively spells the end of Labour’s manifesto pledge to bring the “discriminatory” minimum wage for young people into line with the living wage for older workers in this parliament The minimum wage increased by 26 per cent between 2025 and 2026, leading to stark warnings from employers that it risked impeding efforts to get 1 million “Neets” - young people not in education, employment or training - into work. Healey alluded to the approach in an interview with The Times last week, in which he spoke of the importance of the “trade-off between the level of the minimum wage and the employment rate” thetimes.com/article/c9142a2…

What an outstanding news reporter. If we had done what is shown in that video, we would have been arrested and jailed. Thank God there is no racism in this post. I hope people are beginning to understand that the justice system is no longer protecting the citizens of our countries. I am under no illusion that our countries have been taken over.

England in ten years
