Thrilled to share that @uncorkcap led @phinity_ai’s $5.2M seed round! Phinity is building AI systems to design, verify and eventually tape out chips. In seven years in venture, I’ve never seen a ramp like this: $0 to eight figures in annualized run rate in under three months. I first met @sonyashijin and @aadi_nash late last year, when Phinity was only a few months old and had no customers or revenue. Rather than simply layering coding agents onto existing workflows, Phinity is training AI models to design chips themselves. Since then, they've assembled an incredible team from NVIDIA, Intel, and frontier research labs. Phinity's agents have outperformed experienced hardware engineers on power, performance and area, even when those engineers were using frontier coding agents, and the system produces verified designs an order of magnitude faster. If you're at a frontier lab or semiconductor company and want to dramatically shorten your chip design process, the Phinity team would love to chat. And if you want to work on one of the hardest technical problems out there, they're hiring! More on why we invested: uncorkcapital.com/blog/reinv…

You know you’re old when you get unreasonably excited about a password management agent integration 🙌🙏🤖
Today we announce 1Password for Agents platform, building with companies @Muse, SpaceX Super Intelligence Grok @Bot, @AnthropicAI’s @Claudeai, @OpenAI, @TownAI, @Browserbase, @Browser_use, @heydana_ai, Instinct, @usekernel, @Perplexity_ai, @tryramp, @Tomo, and @wajo_ai, with more integrations on the way. 🎉 We've heard from so many of our customers who want to use these new personal AI agents to help them get more done, but want more control over what the agent can access with the same trust and ease of use they get when using 1Password directly. 1Password for Agents gives your agents access without giving up your passwords. When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it requests a credential from your vault. If you approve the request, 1Password directly auto-fills the credential in the destination site so the agent can’t see or take possession of the credentials. The agent gets the task done, but it doesn’t get your passwords.. You stay in control. 1Password for Agents free and optional for personal and family accounts. Unless you opt-in to an agent connector, agents cannot touch your vault. ➡️Learn more: bit.ly/487da6J

Couldn't be more excited to be a (small) part of this journey with Warp Sciences! @kevinweil has been a dear friend since we first met at Twitter 16 (!) years ago, and he's been passionate about accelerating scientific progress his entire life. My mom is a pediatric immunologist who has devoted her career to treating children with rare diseases, so the potential for AI to dramatically expand what's possible in scientific and medical discovery is especially meaningful to me. Much like the enormous cost of chip design limits how many designs we can explore, drug discovery is constrained by how many molecules we can physically make and test. @warpsciences is bringing together AI, robotics, and world-class scientists to break through that bottleneck. Their team is exceptionally well suited to take on such an ambitious challenge, and we're thrilled to be along for the ride! More from Tripp Jones on why we invested: uncorkcapital.com/blog/inves…
💥 Introducing Warp Sciences, a new company applying AI and robotics to help the world develop new medicines faster. We’ve raised a $215M Series A led by @lightspeedvp to bring frontier AI out of the browser and into the lab, and build scientific capacity here in America. I co-founded Warp with my long-time friend @dpatil, FAIR co-founder @manohar_paluri, and drug hunter Sol Reisberg. The early team is full of incredible people like @bkspears9, who helped achieve Q>1 fusion at LLNL.

The Gamma team rebuilt their beloved presentation platform from the ground up. Gamma 5 takes whatever you've got (an old PPT, a rough outline, a photo of a whiteboard, etc) and turns it into a fully editable presentation that actually feels like you. No other AI design platform gives you this much control over how to share your ideas. Congrats to the @GammaApp team on launch! ✨
Everyone is sick of generic AI, including us. Gamma was the first AI presentation platform to reach real scale. But now that AI tools are everywhere, everything looks the same. Earlier this summer, we came to an uncomfortable conclusion: without a step change in visual variety, Gamma’s output would look and feel too similar to all the other AI tools. The entire point of a presentation is to help someone "get" your idea, to see it as unique and do something with it. We started over. Today we're shipping Gamma 5, the biggest product overhaul in our company's history. We rebuilt Gamma to create presentations that actually look like you and your brand. Your teams can design anything they dream up, following your brand's aesthetic or something entirely new, with every frontier and image model under the hood. And the same goes for your docs, social assets, and graphics. We revamped our agent, design tools, editing, import, export, connectors, and more. Get your ideas out there.

Big congrats to the @Numeral team on their Series C! Very proud to have backed them since the seed. @SpamRoss and Matt are some of the most impressive founders I’ve ever met. They’ve gone after a huge, mission-critical market dominated by legacy incumbents and have become the dominant next-gen player in just a few years, with 3,500+ customers across 90+ countries. Couldn’t be more excited to invest more in this round!
Numeral has raised a $100M Series C, led by Insight Partners with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Benchmark, Mayfield, Uncork, Y Combinator, FCVC, and Geodesic. This brings our total funding to $157M. @numeral solves U.S. sales tax, VAT, and GST compliance for 3,500+ global businesses, trusted by companies like Supabase, Eight Sleep, and Graza. We’re building the future of tax -- where AI agents, human expertise, and global compliance come together in one system. Since starting the business in 2023, we’ve grown quickly across our core e-commerce and software segments, while expanding into new industries including manufacturing, distribution, and wholesale. There is a lot of work in front of us. Sales tax is more dynamic than ever, with states like California implementing new taxes on software and more states using AI for enforcement. We are hiring across the org from engineering to product, sales, and marketing. And we’ve just opened our new office in NYC. If you are looking for what’s next, I’d love for you to take a peek at our careers page. Excited for the year ahead. And humbled to be working with investors like @insightpartners, @rebeccaliudoyle, @SalesforceVC, @katiessschwartz, @ZKokosa, @MayfieldFund, @SPangulur, @benchmark, @chetanp, @ycombinator, @gustaf, @uncorkcap, @susanwliu, @GeodesicCap, @arvindayyala, @FundersClub, @mittal, @mantisVC, @AlexPallNY, @ShaanVP, @lennysan, @moizali, @ringmybeller, @khency6, @asturnerr, @maariabajwa and so many others.

Last week I got to bring together a group of PMs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Glean, Perplexity, MSL, Sierra, Databricks, Stripe and more. We talked about where AI has changed their day to day roles most dramatically, where it's removed a dependency, and where they still feel blocked.

Given how different these companies are (size, customer, layer of the AI stack), I was struck by how similar the answers were. A lot of work that used to require another person/team has become self-serve: prototyping small features instead of writing PRDs, analyzing data instead of filing requests with data scientists, asking an agent who owns what instead of scheduling a million 1:1s.

The product development bottlenecks haven't disappeared, they've shifted. More AI-written code = more PRs someone still has to review. Regulatory timelines haven't sped up. Humans still need to align around strategy. One PM described the magic of spinning up 10 agent sessions at once, only to realize SHE had become the bottleneck. AI is collapsing the time it takes to execute. Human judgment is becoming the scarce resource.

Sent this announcement to Instinct and asked it what it can do that ChatGPT Work can’t, then shared its answer with ChatGPT Work. Seems like the underlying functionality is v similar. The biggest differences are the primary interface and how much persistent monitoring happens by default. Will keep trying both for now. May the best bot win! 😜🤺
ChatGPT Work can now use its computer and browser to sign in to websites on web and mobile, without ChatGPT ever seeing your username or password. That means you can ask it to: • Set up utilities for a new apartment • Book a DMV or passport appointment • Check reimbursement costs through your insurance • Find and book an in-network doctor around your availability • Check when your car registration expires and prepare the renewal paperwork • Compare your rental insurance policy with an issue you’re emailing your landlord about • Find and save apartment listings that match your criteria • Restock something just by uploading a photo • Schedule a package pickup for a return • Cancel tickets for a rescheduled trip • Book a vet appointment • Submit reimbursement paperwork for medical treatments • Check resale sites for new drops and save things you might like • Find candidates with specific experience and draft outreach • Take invoices from your email and submit them to your accounting software • Draft replies to rental property inquiries • Fill out permit applications for your small business • Add action items to a vendor portal based on a recent client call • Analyze the latest ad campaign for your small business

New look for the @uncorkcap website! Same mission, same team, now with fresh paint. We invest before it’s obvious.⤵️
Venture firms rebrand for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes it's genuine evolution - the identity finally catches up with who the firm has become. Sometimes it's camouflage - a way of looking like a different kind of firm than the one the last few years revealed. And sometimes it's just that the old website was embarrassing and someone finally had enough. Ours is mostly the first, none of the second, and just a touch of the last :) Today we're launching a new brand and a redesigned website. The logo is refreshed. The palette is cleaner. The typography is sharper. And the site actually reflects how we think in 2026. Read more: uncorkcapital.com/blog/a-new…
