But that money came from taxpayers and LIC policyholders, so it was the public that carried the risk. Now that the bank has earned ₹30,105 crore in six years and is ready for "the next phase of growth", why should the public lose the benefit?
You say all due process was followed. Then make both valuation reports public and explain why the deal was struck at ₹81 against a reported reserve price of ₹94.42. A sound decision has nothing to fear from transparency.
You spoke of a rulebook, not a phonebook. That same rulebook holds the 2003 assurance to Parliament that the government's stake would not fall below 51%. Keep that promise, keep 51%, and protect the service conditions of employees in writing. #StandWithIDBI
