hey so holy shit please don’t do this. if anything you are going to get the authors in question in trouble, because they are the ones who are in a copyright grey area and the last thing any fic author wants is for fucking GOOGLE to be scrutinising their work for “abusive content”
thanks for the backhanded compliment i hope one day you see the light and start putting his huge dick and crazy tongue and feral rutting alpha energy to good use like i do

my take on the ao3 google drive drama: preservation and redistribution are two different things. downloading fic for personal use is fine; uploading other people’s work permission to your own archive and distributing the link to thousands of people is a different thing. (1/2)
right i think for most fic writers that really is the main thing!! 😭 like share it sure but pls also tell me you liked it and direct people to the place where THEY can tell me they liked it lol. it should be the same etiquette we use for sharing fanart
yeah i shouldve been more specific bc if writers want to share their fics in whatever way they want i support them, and i do support readers downloading/saving fics also, it's just the mass sharing of fics that arent your own is what i think is understandable to be bugged by
yeah exactly like i think there's a big difference between "pssst hey i've got exactly what you're looking for downloaded, here 🤲" and "hey everyone here's MY fics off ao3 for you to enjoy <3" VERSUS "hey everyone here's a giant drive full of every fic ive ever read, go crazy"
i would not care if someone passed my fics around however i think it's very understandable for fic writers to have mixed feelings about it. it's one thing to share amongst friends & another to provide entire drives idk,, i just hope when ao3 is back up u show those authors love!
