A special shout out to @jr_guest @golbuu @PICRCPalau @Coralassist_Lab on #WorldOceansDay to thank them for hosting the inimitable @DivingMsDaisy and making her one of your own! What a fabulous learning experience-so much great coral science! @UVicScience @world_at_uvic @UVic
So grateful to @PICRCPalau and the people of Palau or letting us work on their incredible reefs…and to this good-looking bunch of legends for welcoming me onto the team @Coralassist_Lab @LeverhulmeTrust

Advice from @SeabirdCentre: "Please do not touch dead or injured birds. If you come across an injured or ill seabird please contact SSPCA: 03000 999 999 Please report dead birds to DEFRA: 03459 33 55 77"
We’ve had several reports of dead or injured #gannets in #EastLothian today. This may be a natural event but due to the current outbreak of avian flu at Shetland seabird colonies, the situation is being closely monitored by @NatureScot and Government.

@countingfishes spent last week with the @doecayman team deploying mid-water, seabed and mesophotic #BRUVS in the #CaymanIslands as part of @UKgovbluebelt #GlobalOceanWildlifeAnalysisNetwork. Look forward to seeing the range of fish across the three habitats! #Bluebelt
The @meeuwiglab just finished up our #oceanwildlife surveys using mid-water #BRUVS from @countingfishes at the Geographe Bay and Southwest Corner Marine Parks @Parks_Australia. 200 deployments in 10 days with hectic weather, supported by #LeeuwinMarineCharters #BlueAbacus

... Hanna Jabour Christ who completed a 1st class honours on functional ecology of pelagic species … watch this space for the paper. @Shona__Murray who has progressed her PhD whilst COVID-stuck in the UK and still continues her work on IUCN Vulnerable silky sharks.
On #InternationalWomensDay the Marine Futures Lab would like to celebrate the achievements of our women researchers contributing to ocean conservation. @BiolSci_UWA ...@NaimasOcean who published on endangered hammerheads and media raises attention on protection.

So good to see the #CoP26 announcement of the Eastern Tropical Pacific Marine Corridor #CMAR marine park. It will protect an ocean highway across the ocean territories of Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Panama. We continue to deploy our #BRUVS across the region @NG_PristineSeas

Yesterday Ascension Island & St Helena's #BRUVS were packed up and sent ready for loading onto #DY143! PhD student @Shona__Murray will be onboard the #DY143 expedition and helping deploy these pieces of kit around the OTs. 🐬🦈🐠 #GlobalOceanWildlifeAnalysisNetwork
The #GlobalOceanWildlifeAnalysisNetwork is a series of #BRUVS across 10 #UKOTs incl: Pitcairn, Ascension, St Helena, Tristan da Cunha, BIOT & BAT. The network will collect vital information on marine life and support OTs to grow understanding of their marine environment #COP26
