Just to show you the irony of the American-imposed post 2003 political system in Iraq:
Iraq “chooses” a new prime minister → Iraqis rush to search on Google because most people have never heard of him.
Why? Because he was picked by Iran.
Then the U.S. embassy congratulates him while the U.S. is at war with Iran.
The world is really absurd.

Urgent: how to help save a young protester’s life.
I cannot believe how many years we’ve had to recycle this dystopian practice. God, when will it end? #ErfanSoltani

Growing up in Saddam’s era, we actually loved these kinds of demonstrations. Green buses would show up unannounced at our middle and high schools and take us straight to the protests. Days like that meant homework and exams were canceled. The louder your school shouted, the longer you stayed. You bet everyone screamed against Bush 😁.
I’m sure millions of Iranians support the regime—whether out of ideology, religion, or ties to power. But 3 million, 5 million, even 10 million do not constitute a majority in a country of more than 92 million people

Set up Nginx as reverse proxy. Configured upstream to application server on port 3000.
Everything worked. Deployed to production.
Two weeks later: Random 502 errors. 1-2 per hour. No pattern.
Checked:
- Application server: Always running
- Application logs: No errors
- Nginx logs: "no live upstreams while connecting to upstream"
Application was running. Why was Nginx saying no upstreams?
Nginx config:
upstream app {
server 127.0.0.1:3000;
}
Tested manually: curl localhost:3000 - worked every time.
Added Nginx debug logging. Found it:
Nginx was marking upstream as down after failed health check.
But I didn't configure health checks.
Default behavior: Nginx does passive health checks. If request fails, marks backend down for 10 seconds.
What was failing:
- Client disconnected before response completed
- Nginx got connection reset
- Marked backend as down
- Next 10 seconds of requests got 502
Fixed with:
upstream app {
server 127.0.0.1:3000 max_fails=3 fail_timeout=30s;
}
Allowed 3 failures before marking down. Better tolerance.

Damn you demo gods!
Ok so WiFi pews!
We have a few things setup!
Firstly the TP-Link to show how poor their defaults are (on most of their kit I find ITW)
You can crack the key space here in 4 minutes on a laptop with not mega GPU
One of the WiFi participants managed to capture the key material and then crack the hashes from the TP-link so they won some swag! (A shadow router and a tp link usb WiFi adaptor #ironic)
What didn’t work during the workshop was capturing a hash from the WPA2 PSK network on the UniFi gear…. And I don’t know why!
So time to investigate!

My oncologist tried to stop my chemotherapy* treatment last week because of a one-page synopsis he had read regarding my recent MRI, which mentioned that one of my brain tumors had progressed.
It turns out he had never actually looked at the MRI itself; and the specialist who wrote the synopsis had not actually compared the new images to my previous MRI from 2024.
I was skeptical, as my symptoms had not progressed; so I asked my oncologist to show me a comparison of the two most recent MRIs, to demonstrate the growth. So, he brought them up on his screen and showed me a clear difference between image on the left and one on the right.
"But the one on the left is the 2017 MRI," I said. "We both know the tumor has grown since then."
The doctor was surprised, and said, "You're right. I'm not sure why the 2024 MRI isn't showing up."
Anyway, we had to go to a different room and use a different computer to find last year's images. When my oncologist finally brought them up, he realized there was a clear REDUCTION in the size of my tumor, as well as a loss of contrast, indicating that the tumor was dying. So, the chemotherapy was working after all!
Had I taken my doctor at his word, and stopped my chemotherapy, I would have soon needed an extremely risky brain surgery that would have changed my life forever.
We are living through a crisis of competence in America — or is it in the world as a whole? It is absolutely essential that we remain vigilant and look out for our own health, because we apparently can no longer trust our doctors to do it for us. Remember to ask questions, get second opinions and, above all, don't just assume that your doctor is infallible. Now more than ever, your life is in your own hands.
