This is most definitely NOT what resistance looks like. A bunch of people politely filing down a street with zero demands and zero consequences if they don't get them is nothing more than a parade. Switch your channel to France to see what a protest with balls looks like.

Puerto Rico’s wet season usually begins in May, but rainfall has been low this year. By late August, drought had spread across much of Puerto Rico, contributing to water shortages and rationing in some areas. NASA data is helping scientists track drought conditions.

People keep lecturing Puerto Ricans that if the USA made us a state we would have electricity
I Really Can't sleep 😔cause why are we still dealing with a power outage 14 days later and it’s not labeled an emergency yet so FEMA can’t be dispatched.. This is an administrative failure on multiple levels. They do not care about, Indiana at all.

While Puerto Ricans suffer through no water and electricity, an economy in free fall and a government plagued by corruption scandals, the Puerto Rican governor, with the help of US media, sells a collapsing island as a fiscal paradise, as predatory capitalists circle overhead.

Puerto Rico is experiencing a water shortage crisis caused by severe drought, aging infrastructure, and successive governments prioritizing major economic interests over the country's development. The scarcity of drinking water forces Puerto Ricans to find their own solutions. In a mountainous area of Trujillo Alto, residents go to a natural well to collect water every day. Many of them must juggle their time between daily chores and the search for water. BT's @ldejesusreyes has the story.

Puerto Rico needs billions to rebuild its water and electrical infrastructure. But FEMA requires the island to pay upfront and seek reimbursement later. With its bankruptcy & debt, Coenia Sanchez writes that the model is “a mathematical impossibility.” inthesetimes.com/article/pue…

The Anglo press hardly pays attention to Puerto Rico unless there is a crisis - a hurricane or earthquakes or a water crisis. Then they go into full misery porn mode - not reporting, no in depth analysis. They just paint an incorrect picture and use one stereotype after another.

The inequalities in resources due to climate change are so real. Wealthier countries, major contributors to climate change, will be able to implement quick fixes while regions like the Caribbean, with a smaller carbon footprint, a suffer from heat and hurricanes.

The US and EU are sitting on over $30 billion of Venezuela’s own frozen assets while its people are buried under rubble. Sending aid is not enough. Lift every sanction now. Those same sanctions have for years blocked the heavy equipment needed to dig people out.

Just to be clear, socialism is a fundamental restructuring of our economic model, not when a local politician does good things. New York City is still the belly of the financial beast that is turning the blood soaked gears of global capital.
how is socialism bad when everyone in new york seems to be having a much better time than everyone else
