The plaque reads "In 2022, radio announcer Joe Castiglione called his 40th season of Red Sox baseball, the longest run of a broadcaster in Red Sox history. A native of Hamden CT, he joined the Red Sox Broadcast team in 1983 airing games for WPLM, and then for WRKO/WEEI beginning in 1989. A graduate of Colgate university (BA) and Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication (MA), Castiglione is know for jubilantly exclaiming 'can you believe it?' after the Red Sox secured the last out in the 2004 World Series. He serves as a mentor to young broadcasters and was a longtime educator of Communications Studies at Northeastern University (1985-2013). A dependable and friendly voice that is distinctly New England, 'Castig' has been a consistent presence on the airwaves for generations of Red Sox fans. He was elected to the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2014."
