You have to stop letting mid-tier women bait you into defending your looks.
Why are you taking beauty assessments from women who wouldn't even make the shortlist?!
Stop accepting unsolicited reviews from people who wouldn't pass quality control.
JUST STOP.

one of the biggest freedoms I have is allowing people to not like me. none of my goals in life include universal likability

I wonder what our X Village Academics @Wordslinger__ and @wmnjoya have to day about her points - because we are pointing in the wrong direction and at scare speeds.

I was panicking in 2017 and Kenyans brushed it off. When a whole ministry of education, with professors in it, tells you that children don't need knowledge, is that not something to panic about? But Kenyans agreed with them.
What the child is being taught is skills without knowledge. That's what it means. I even broke down the meaning of competency, which is detached tasks that mean nothing together. So let the kid say goon, cook, whatoover, and they have a reading "skill," but they still can't read. I tried to tell Kenyans that, they told me that knowledge=exams, and they don't want exams. So they want skills without knowledge.
But I've now understood that Kenyans have conceded to being stupid. To be stupid, from Bonhoeffer's definition, is not about intellect. It's sociological phenomenon where power convinces people to give up their right to think and to listen to their own conscience. Facts won't change their minds. That's why I stopped talking of the details of the curriculum. There's no point. Kenyans have decided that they're not listening. Irris warrirris. #CBCisheretostay

NRB streets: no drainage, no wetlands to allow water to percolate. Wetlands now filled with high-rise concrete jungles. How does one reconcile this with the Magnificent Talanta Stadium? Balanced Planning?

It was an interview with Herman Manyora he was explaining how people who have to be pushed to register will also have to be pushed to turn out to vote. It's very sad to see the reality of many Kenyans who simply could not be bothered about politics.

There is a reason the first educated women from 🏔️ were nicknamed “Mambere.”
Actually, the easiest way to tell older people that your grandmother/great grandmother was educated is to say she was a “mambere.” Watakuelewa.

I was roaming around Thogoto today and decided to add some context for those who may not have the means to buy/ access @henry_kianduma’s book.

IEBC SHORTLISTS ONLY KENYAN CITIZENS FOR CEO POSITION
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has noted the discussion following the publication of applicants for the position of Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer.
To ensure professionalism and independence in this critical recruitment, the Commission contracted KPMG Kenya to manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertisement, receipt of applications, long-listing, verification and shortlisting.
1. Why we published all names:
In compliance with Article 35 and Article 232 of the Constitution on transparency and fair competition, the Commission published the full list of all the 304 applicants.
2. We cannot control who applies:
The vacancy was advertised openly in the newspapers, IEBC website and all social media platforms. Some applicants were of foreign nationalities. This is normal for any open advertisement and does not constitute an anomaly. Any person can apply, but not everyone qualifies.
3. Shortlisting strictly based upon Kenyan citizenship and merit:
The mandatory requirement in the advertisement was that the applicant must be a Kenyan citizen, hold a degree recognised in Kenya, have at least 5years’ senior management experience and meet the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and of the IEBC Act.
Upon verification of national ID, citizenship and academic credentials, the final shortlist contains ONLY Kenyan citizens. All foreign applicants were disqualified at the preliminary stage for not meeting the citizenship requirement.
The Commission assures the public that the process remains transparent, competitive and merit-based.
We urge Kenyans to disregard attempts to politicize a standard recruitment process.
