Huge shout-out to @bot!! Iโve spent YEARS trying to piece together my Hungarian family history and never got past my great-grandparents because I wasnโt paying Ancestry๐ซฃ๐
I gave @bot what I knew, and it helped me find my fourth cousin in Hungary! Weโre now emailing, and heโs shared a family tree going back to the mid-1700s!!
After decades of knowing next to nothing about that side of my family, Iโm finally connecting with relatives. That means more than I can explain.๐
I have an extremely hard time believing that Illinois went that blue since 2024. In TX every county went blue! Iโm not buying it! #VoterFraud
So you think nearly every county in Illinois shifted Blue, you really think voters voted this way?
Strongest blue shifts (largest moves toward Democrats)
These were concentrated in the Chicago suburbs and collar counties:
โข Kendall (~+18 pts)
โข Will (~+18 pts)
โข Kane (~+17โ18 pts)
โข Cook (~+17 pts)
โข McHenry (~+16 pts)
โข DuPage (~+15 pts)
โข Lake (~+13 pts)
โข Also solid moves in Winnebago, Rock Island, St. Clair, Sangamon, McLean, and many others.

Still have 5 places left ๐
๐ ADVANCE READERS WANTED!
My debut novel, The Gun is coming to Amazon on Friday 4th December.
Set during the Troubles in 1980s Northern Ireland, it follows two teenage boys whose discovery of a gun sets off a dangerous chain of events. It is an ADULT novel.
I'm looking for 5โ10 advance readers who'd like a FREE digital copy before publication.
An honest Amazon review when the book launches would be hugely appreciated, but there's no obligation, and all opinions are welcome.
Interested? Drop me a DM!
I have an ePub file that works lovely with kindle and other e-readers.
PS if you read an earlier draft just shout and you get this one for free too ๐๐

For the last two years, you've known me as Mr. Star-Spangled MAGA.
Today, I'm hanging it up.
You've shared your opinions, frustrations, stories, and sometimes even your heartbreak.
But there's someone I've never introduced.
The man behind the mask.
My name is Rob.
I'm a regular guy from the Northeast.
A husband. A father. A coach.
A guy who's made plenty of mistakes, buried people he loved, chased dreams that didn't work out, and spent most of his adult life trying to figure out what the hell he's doing.
My story started long before politics.
I had a childhood I wouldn't trade for anything. It wasn't perfect, not even close.
But I loved my family. Our traditions. Holidays. Vacations. Ordinary moments you don't realize are extraordinary until they're gone.
Then, when I was 19, my dad died of cancer.
He was only 47.
And something inside me changed forever.
I didn't want the world I loved to change.
Without my dad to guide me, I stumbled through my early twenties. Too much partying. Too much drinking. Drugs. Bad decisions. Pretending I had it figured out when I didn't have a damn clue.
Then, at 29, I met @mamalechesocial the woman who would become my wife.
For the first time in years, I was building something meaningful.
Then eight days before our wedding, my mother suddenly died.
EIGHT DAYS.
I can't describe what that does to a person.
Instead of sharing a dance with her, they played our song with an empty dance floor.
She would never meet my children.
And that part still destroys me.
Sometimes I watch them laughing, playing, being ridiculous, and think how much my parents would have loved them.
They'll never hear my mother's laugh.
They'll never feel my father's hug.
I'm struggling to write this part without crying because grief doesn't disappear.
You just learn how to carry it while the rest of the world keeps moving.
Maybe that's why I see fatherhood differently.
I don't want my children to experience the pain I experienced. I want to be here. I want to watch them grow up. I want to be healthy, present, and the kind of father and husband they can always count on.
That's what matters to me now.
Along the way, I discovered a passion for writing and connecting with people.
In 2020, under the name Joe America, I created a "Stop the Steal" Facebook group called Nationwide Recount 2020.
We reached one million members in less than three days. Six weeks later, Facebook shut us down at 1.7 million.
I went on to write two political books after that.
Eventually, Joe America became Mr. Star-Spangled MAGA.
And tah-da, here we are.
After years of creating content about politics, I've realized something.
The most interesting thing about any of us isn't who we voted for.
It's what we've survived.
It's the people we've loved.
It's our mistakes, our dreams, and the battles nobody knows we're fighting.
Behind every profile picture is a human being with a story.
And I think we've forgotten that.
We've argued so much about what divides us that we've forgotten what connects us.
That's what I want to change.
I want to create content that makes people smile. Content that reminds us where we came from. Content that brings people together instead of giving them another reason to hate each other.
I want to spread the exact positivity that @elonmusk wanted for this platform.
That is why I created @GrowingUpRetro
But before I retired this account, I wanted you to know the person behind it and that is why I wrote this.
Not the character I've played.
Just Rob.
A 46-year-old husband and father who misses his parents, loves his family, has made more mistakes than he can count, and is still trying to become a better man.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives.
And thank you for being part of mine.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got three kids to raise, a wife to love, and a whole lot of life left that I don't intend to waste.
God bless you all.
In freedom,
Rob โค๏ธ

๐จ One of our brothers in our food community needs our help. I received a dm from @BarryM1595238 that he was diagnosed with cancer a year ago and it has gotten worse. He is in the hands of hospice now unfortunately. I immediately called him to give him some love. Barry is and always has been a wonderful person. He loves this community and has appreciated all the help we have given him with our cooking methods. He wants to make sure his family is taken care of. If you can help in any way, please do so. Letโs show Barry some love and appreciation he deserves. Thank you ๐๐ป๐๐ป
