Gutted to read that Diwali in the Square is now cancelled due to weather set up h&s concerns. Understandable. It's my favourite Traf Square, a feast of colour. If anyone knows of other Diwali festivities or performances, let me know. (am aware of Neasden Temple celebrations).

The question is though - will American voters have the chance to see fair and un-manipulated elections? And if Trump foes before the next elections, what comes after him. Vance could be worse in that he may push through their agenda more effectively.
When this guy is gone the Americans will wonder how the hell they ever elected him once let alone twice.

Ironically, in true British weather tradition, once I was done photographing maintenance on the Henry Moore statues in the morning rain, the sun came out at Kew Gardens. There are gorgeous colours showing on at least some of the trees, the view from the Treetop walkway is lovely.

On Wednesday AM, I photographed the lovely team from the Henry Moore Foundation maintaining and cleaning the Moore sculptures at Kew. It was pouring with rain, good for the cleaning process, actually, tricky for me, but I still really enjoyed documenting it. Pics @Alamy_Editorial

Dear @TfL, the Elizabeth Line is fab. Fast, long trains that pack a crowd. Love it. but could you put some 'front/back of train' signs on those long platforms, please? Many stations have exits/interchanges only at one end, and it can be a long walk if you get on at the wrong end.

For only £3 a month you can adopt an economy passenger. Help us stop the brutal and inhumane way we treat them by donating today. You’ll receive a framed picture of your very own economy passenger and regular updates as to where their luggage might be. Thank you.

Good little deed of the day - had my annual flu and covid jabs. Protecting myself as much as that is possible, but also protecting others. Had to pay for them myself, but think it’s worth it. Every little helps.

Ps. Just read on here that Andy Burnham also got his flu jab today. Copycat! 😁

Such a beautifully sunny day today. I could swear there were still clear evening skies when I went into Muji. When I left the shop, it was chucking it down and hasn‘t stopped since. Meh. How long was I in there???

C'mon, chaps and chapettes - we can't allow healthy, young dogs to be euthanised. Any shelter with a space?
Very urgent, please retweet to help find a rescue shelter space for this stray dog, currently facing 'euthanasia' in a council pound #UK Wed 21 Oct 2026 💔💔💔 'PLEASE SHARE FOR RESCUE SPACE Please note this young girl is in Authority care ( council pound) and can only be released to a reputable rescue. This poor pup is only seven months old and already in this sad position. She hasn’t had the best start, I can go into her story a little with any rescues that may be able to offer her a space rather than detail on her post. She’s a super sweet girl, still a pup with lots to learn but she’s very sweet. She is good with dogs out an about and has had some good assessments away from the kennels site, I am told she has been a bit stressed with a dog on the kennels site, but I also have footage of her playing with other dogs. More info available. PLEASE SHARE FOR A RESCUE SPACE. She deserves a chance at such a young age ' CONTACT IF YOU CAN OFFER A RESCUE SPACE 👇👇👇 facebook.com/NHARescue Email [email protected] Website newhopeanimalrescue.org.uk/ This council will not allow the public to adopt. Please share so that a rescue shelter with space sees this. @UKLabour @ConservativeAWF @APDAWG1 @NickDixon @clarebalding @andyburnham @RoyalFamily @HopeRescue @WWPdogs @AllDogsMatter #cats @RSPCA_PATeam @KatieAmess @NickDixon @BBCNews @GBNEWS @PatrickChristys @BritishVets @DefraGovUK @EamonnHolmes @RoyalFamily @BenObeseJecty @UKLabour @gsrescueelite @daisys_voice @scanme_tukslaw @Tukslaw_scanme @DogsTrust @Battersea_ @rickygervais @JaneFallon @Jan_Leeming @RobbieRinder @liamgallagher @MetroUK @DailyMirror @TheSun @Independent @dotslondon @JerryGreenDogs @WoodgreenPets @PeterEgan6 @AndrewRosindell @ConservativeAWF #dogs #Puppies Currently in a council pound, immediate risk of being PTS, 21 Oct 2026.

Lovely photocall at the Science Museum this morning, for their new exhibition 'Becoming America: How Science Shaped a Nation'. Very interesting, first time I've seen one of the rare copies of the declaration of independence. Pic set @Alamy_Editorial Note: embargoed until midnight

Please retweet, the stark reality of the council pound system in the UK 💔💔💔 Alice's owner passed away and she was due to be PTS in a council pound on 21 Oct 2026, thankfully a small rescue @8BelowHuskyResc stepped in and she is now safe. 🐾 A LITTLE ABOUT THE UK STRAY SYSTEM 🐾 For those who aren’t familiar with how the UK stray system works, we’d like to explain something that many people are shocked to discover. When a dog enters the stray system, whether found wandering, abandoned or, as in Alice’s case, following the death of an owner, they can face an incredibly uncertain future. Under UK legislation, stray dogs must generally be held for a minimum of seven days to allow an owner the opportunity to reclaim them. After those seven days, if a dog remains unclaimed, they can legally be rehomed, transferred to rescue or euthanised. And yes, sadly, perfectly healthy, loving dogs can lose their lives simply because there is nowhere for them to go. 💔 Not every council pound operates in the same way, and many work tirelessly alongside rescues to find safe placements. However, the reality is that kennel spaces are limited, rescues are overwhelmed and dogs continue to find themselves at risk. The majority of dogs who come into the care of 8 Below Husky Rescue arrive through the UK stray system. Behind every kennel door is a dog with a story. A dog who deserves compassion, kindness and a chance. And sometimes, the difference between life and death is simply a rescue saying YES. ♥️ Everyone, please give a warm welcome to this beautiful lady, Alice. At 11 years old, Alice should be spending her golden years surrounded by love, comfort and security. Sadly, life has dealt this beautiful girl a heartbreaking hand. Alice’s owner sadly passed away, and this lovely girl ended up in the stray system, with a euthanasia date booked for Wednesday 21st October. Thankfully, a pound puller we help often reached out to us, desperately seeking help to save Alice. We are delighted to share that Alice is now safe from euthanasia and will be transported into our care very soon. Alice is described as an incredibly sweet, loving girl with a kind and gentle nature. She is sociable with other dogs and sounds like an absolute sweetheart. However, at 11 years old, Alice has been through an unimaginable amount of upheaval. She has lost her owner, her home and everything familiar to her. She will need a calm, understanding home where she can decompress, grieve and begin to feel safe again. A home where she can enjoy the peace, comfort and love that every dog deserve We don’t know how long Alice spent with her previous owner or what her life looked like before this heartbreaking turn of events. But what we do know is that she was someone’s girl. Someone’s companion. Someone’s family. ❤️ And whilst we can never replace the person she has lost, we can promise her that she will be loved, cared for and given every opportunity to find happiness again. Welcome to the 8 Below family, Alice. ❤️ Your world may have been turned upside down, sweetheart, but your story isn’t over. Your next chapter starts here. 🐾❤️ 8 Below Husky Rescue, UK - REGISTERED BRITISH CHARITY ✅✅✅ On facebook facebook.com/8BelowHuskyResc… On Twitter/X @8BelowHuskyResc Website if you would like to donate, foster or adopt 8belowhuskyrescue.org/ #dogs #adoptdontshop #Huskies #England #Scotland #Wales #NorthernIreland @ConservativeAWF @AlistairCarns @clarebalding @AlisonHammond @GBNEWS @PatrickChristys @NickDixonITV @GMB @thismorning @BBCNews @BBCPanorama @RobbieRinder @UKLabour @APDAWG1 @PeterEgan6 @RSPCA_PATeam @DogsTrust @gsrescueelite @LurcherSOS @daisys_voice @scanme_tukslaw @Tukslaw_scanme @KatieAmess @AndrewRosindell @Jan_Leeming @liamgallagher @rickygervais @JaneFallon @brianblessed @JeremyClarkson @ClarksonsFarm1 @itvnews Below, after her owner passed away, Alice was due to be PTS in a council pound, today 21 Oct 2026. Little good deed of the day today was actually doing something for myself. Took a day off, met friends, went to a pilates class. It’s so nice to finally be able to do a bit of exercise again after the surgery in spring. Maybe I can play tennis again eventually, fingers crossed🤞

So the covid report confirmed what most of us knew anyway - there was never a 'protective ring' around care homes, despite Matt & Boris continuing to peddle that line, and there were completely unacceptable failings throughout. Costing lives. Many. Far too many. Shameful.

A few shots from the press day at Frieze London art fair today. Need to go back and cover Frieze Classic as well, it was too much to photograph in one day - huhe space and number of galleries present this year.

Just spotted the Freudian slip in my tweet, it’s Frieze Masters, of course, not Frieze Classic, haha. I was very tired when I wrote it, but perhaps it should be called Frieze Classic. 😉
