Palestinian women and children continue to face the harsh realities of life under Israeli occupation, as daily encounters with occupation forces bring fear, distress and uncertainty to Palestinian families.
Life under occupation remains a daily struggle for many Palestinians.
From France to India, young people have led the current wave of protests.
Rather than deny the importance of generational politics, we can see it as a way that people make sense of their life chances and of the opportunities they are denied. jacobin.com/2026/10/gen-z-pr…

Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
“We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1

THE GRIFT CONTINUES: A new report alleges that Russian military intelligence hacked Jared Kushner's phone, and the hack exposed his secret Middle East bank accounts that Gulf royals had loaded with at least $2 billion.
According to the report, Dutch spies got into the Russian server, started watching Kushner's phone themselves, and saw him logging into those accounts.
Kushner calls it "completely insane." Trump calls it "fake news."
Here's the part nobody can call fake. Kushner's investment firm took $2 billion from the Saudi crown prince's fund. The fund's own advisers raised red flags, but the Saudis wrote the check anyway.
Compare that to Hunter Biden. Hunter was a private citizen who never held a government job, and Republicans spent years on hearings, subpoenas, and Fox segments about the "laptop from hell."
When Joe Biden called the laptop story a Russian operation, they laughed at him for it.
Now Russia is allegedly in the middle of the Kushner story, and the only defense his side has is to call it fake.
Kushner isn't a private citizen either. He's Trump's peace envoy, and last month he was sitting across from Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.
Hunter got a congressional investigation. Jared got a seat at the table with Putin. Let's see how many Republicans call for hearings this time.

No progress: Kyiv has received no new information—neither from Hegseth nor from the Pentagon—regarding the authorization of missiles for Patriot or NASAMS systems, reports Alex Raufoglu @ralexdc .
Furthermore, according to sources who spoke to a Radio Liberty journalist, there is absolutely no new information from the Pentagon concerning licenses for Patriot systems.

President Trump: “We didn’t start the war with Iran. Iran started the war with us.”
The claim is incorrect. Israel launched a war against Iran in June 2025, with the U.S. joining the attacks. The U.S. and Israel launched another war in February 2026, and Washington resumed strikes in July.

Yesterday Israel kidnapped dozens of Syrian boys and men.
Their families have no idea where they are.
Why do they get to do this all over the region?
Israeli forces have detained dozens of Syrians from the country’s south, some of them teenage boys taken from farms and family homes. Their families still don’t know where they are being held or why, reports @subhash_anagha for @newlinesmag. newlinesmag.com/reportage/th…

🇨🇦🇺🇦 Canadian company Telesat plans to provide Ukraine with an alternative to Starlink by starting to create its own low-orbit satellite network, Lightspeed, which will start operating in early 2028.
Canada does not hide that the reason for abandoning Starlink was the decision of the US government to temporarily limit Ukraine's use of the Starshield system, which disrupted the country's defense operations and left Ukrainians even more vulnerable to continuous Russian attacks.
It has also forced US allies, who are increasingly at odds with the Donald Trump administration, to rethink their dependence on American technology.

My close friend, who is also our team’s photographer, was injured in a strike while walking down a street in Gaza City.
What happened to him reminded me of a terrifying reality we face every single day: in Gaza, we never know whether we will make it back home alive or whether our families will receive the news that we have been killed.
We leave our homes without knowing if it will be the last time we see our families. We walk through the streets, trying to take care of the simplest daily necessities, with no guarantee that we will reach our destination safely.
Imagine living in a place where simply walking down the street could cost you your life, where every day you face the possibility that you might never return to your family and could instead become another name among the dead.
This is the terror we live with in Gaza. There is nowhere we can truly feel safe. Even the streets and roads we walk along every day are no longer safe.
We have been forced to live with the constant possibility of death, trying to hold on to life in a reality that denies us even the most basic of rights: to leave our homes and return to them safely.

Regardless of which war criminal becomes prime minister, Palestinians living under Israeli apartheid will continue to face genocide, land theft, and erasure.
We cannot accept lies, excuses, or half-measures from our leaders. We must impose a full arms embargo and sanctions until Palestine is free.

That story about Google killing hundreds of thousands of trees in Finland for its data center project is such a perfect microcosm of what capitalism is doing to our world.
Recent mass media headlines are saying the tech giant "illegally" cut down "250,000" trees, but both claims paint an inaccurate picture of what actually happened. Google killed 400,000 trees (250,000 near a town called Muhos and another 150,000 near the village of Otanmäki), and unless the company's executives actually wind up going to prison for this, their actions cannot properly be described as "illegal".
I don't know who first coined the saying "If the penalty is a fine, then it's legal for rich people," but it certainly applies here. The Finnish Licensing and Supervision Authority has reportedly ordered Google to suspend all “measures that significantly change the environment," saying it will "consider enforcement proceedings and fines" if the megacorporation does not comply. Google's parent company Alphabet has a net worth of around four trillion dollars. Whatever paltry penalties Finland might impose for these ecocidal actions, it won't have any meaningful effect on Google.
Giant corporations do this shit all the time. They calculate that the fines incurred by their abusive actions will be dwarfed by the massive profits they generate, issue fake apologies as needed, and leave it to their armies of lawyers to minimize the damage. That's why the Sackler family is still worth billions despite all the fines Purdue Pharma was slapped with while creating the US opiate epidemic.
A 2017 Harvard study titled “The Opioid Epidemic: Fixing a Broken Pharmaceutical Market" contains the following paragraph:
"Although civil claims and criminal charges were brought against Purdue and its executives, the resulting penalties paled in comparison to extended-release oxycodone profits. In May 2007, the company and its president, chief counsel, and former chief medical officer pled guilty to falsely marketing extended-release oxycodone as 'less addictive, less subject to abuse and diversion, and less likely to cause tolerance and withdrawal than other pain medications.' As part of the plea bargain, Purdue agreed to pay the federal government $600 million and 27 states $20 million. The three executives agreed to $34.5 million in fines but avoided jailtime. By contrast, Purdue has earned an estimated $31 billion in total revenues from extended-release oxycodone since its launch. Rather than deterring fraudulent marketing, the penalties simply became a cost of doing business."
A cost of doing business.
That's how things work under capitalism. The law primarily exists not to protect people or the environment, but to protect the interests of capital. If you destroyed a Google data center you'd probably be charged as a terrorist and spend decades in prison, but Google can destroy the natural world around you and get off with a finger wag and a symbolic fine. If you stole millions of dollars from your employer you'd go to prison for grand larceny, but if your employer steals millions from its employees you need to win a class action lawsuit to get back what they stole from you.
Proponents of capitalism often pretend they support minimal government intervention in civilian affairs, but their entire model is at all times propped up by state power using force to protect the haves from the have-nots at every level of our society. Corporations are free to destroy the environment, destroy your health, rob you, exploit you, and manipulate your government to their advantage, and if you ever take action to stand up to this world-devouring onslaught, the state will lock you in a cage.
In school we are taught that that the law exists to protect ordinary people from bad people, but that's not true at all. Under capitalism, the law exists to protect the very worst among us from everyone else. That's why we are seeing our planet being turned into dust and ashes for no reason other than shareholder profit.
It's an insane system, and it needs to end. These freaks are feeding our entire biosphere into the woodchipper.
