🎯 Russia is a failed nation, a terror state, a mafia pretending to be a country, a people infected with an imperial virus, a gas station with nukes that barely has any gas left, a Chinese vassal that needs perpetual war to stay intact. It should be quarantined, not elevated.
This has been Putin's dream for years: That his country, with GDP per capita lower than Poland, unable to conquer Donbas since 2014, will be treated as an equal to the US and China.

1. Update from Tirana: Rama has had three rambling speeches in three days. He says he won't quit; rioters will be quashed by police force. The rioters say they won't quit until he does. Seven days of street battles, destruction of public buildings/infrastructre, some businesses.

Huge development: VV and LDK agree to nominate the non-partisan jurist and former diplomat Bekim Sejdiu for President of Kosovo.
Sejdiu served as Kosovo's first Ambassador to Turkey, Consul General in New York, and a Constitutional Court Judge. He lectures at the Faculty of Law.

President Zelenskyy’s visit to Serbia is important. Dialogue is always welcome, particularly when it creates space to address difficult questions with clarity, responsibility and a sense of history.
Just as Albania stands, and will continue to stand, firmly with Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and European future, we stand equally firmly for Kosovo’s sovereignty, independence and rightful place in the Euro-Atlantic family.
There should be no misunderstanding on this point: any attempt to draw a parallel or establish an equation between Kosovo and any other international situation is wrong, opportunistic and profoundly misleading.
Kosovo’s case stands on its own historical, political and legal foundations. At the request of the UN General Assembly, the International Court of Justice was unequivocal: Kosovo’s declaration of independence did not violate international law. Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is an entirely different matter. It constitutes a grave violation of the UN Charter and international law, and a blatant breach of the rules-based international order.
From Albania’s perspective, one principle is fundamental: a peaceful, stable and European Western Balkans requires acceptance of the reality and irreversibility of Kosovo’s independence. Kosovo independence has contributed to regional stability and is part of a future in which borders are not changed through force, and peoples and communities can determine their future in peace and security.
We firmly maintain also that Serbia and Kosovo both belong in a common European future. The normalisation of their relations, ultimately leading to mutual recognition, would not weaken Serbia. On the contrary, it would help close one of the most painful chapters of our region’s recent history and open the way to genuine reconciliation, good-neighbourly relations and lasting peace. The Western Balkans needs that positive energy today, perhaps more than ever.
President Zelenskyy’s visit to Serbia advances, first and foremost, Ukraine’s interests. This is both understandable and legitimate. Yet, every step that helps Serbia move further away from Russia’s malign influence and closer to Europe is positive. But every engagement is also an opportunity to advance a fundamental understanding: the Western Balkans must move forward, not backward.

Tragic, what a way to finish. All my sympathies with this phenomenal Croatian team. I also had my career attacked by a computer! 🇭🇷
Recently opened account based in Romania (!) has opinions about the recent protests in Albania. At least one useful thing we got from Elon on this thing is that country of origin of the trolls... 😁
Replying to @kos_data
We have made good progress in developing a compact list of demands. However, we need to take this further.
We must move from general demands to concrete, actionable plans if this movement is to be taken seriously. Our current requests remain vague wishes without clear mechanisms for implementation. We need to explain exactly how this vision will unfold in practice. Rama will not voluntarily resign and walk into prison, nor will Berisha. A “technical government” made up of whose people exactly the same servants and loyalists of the current parties?
We must publicly name credible, independent alternatives who can deliver on the rest of our demands. Repealing corrupt laws is one of the most achievable goals right now we should place maximum emphasis and pressure on this. Free and fair elections sound good in theory, but what exact model do we want? Which electoral system? Who will organize and supervise them? Without specific answers, these demands will be easily twisted and dismissed by those working daily to undermine the protests

Finally, @nytimes wrote a proper article providing the context I have been screaming for days on X. It explains what #AlbaniaProtests are about, not Trump, not Middle East, but a DOMESTIC anger about DOMESTIC issues, of corruption and authoritarianism. nytimes.com/2026/06/21/world…

Where is the "clash with the police"? 🤔
Demonstrators once again clashed with the police in Albania’s capital Tirana.
People have been taking to the streets to protest Jared Kushner’s controversial luxury resort project set to be built upon protected wetlands along Albania’s southern coast.
The movement has since grown to encompass concerns over corruption and opposition to Prime Minister Edi Rama’s government.
