Today was one of my best, and worst, days in SMB ownership/investing all combined into one. 1) I realized a strong MOIC on a personal SMB investment made 5+ years ago with full QSBS treatment. Searcher and team did very well. An excellent outcome for all. 2) Found out a relatively new (~4 weeks) but promising employee disconnected the GPS on his van on Friday, drove it 4 hours away, without permission, overdosed on what appears to be fentanyl laced drugs, is in the ICU, and will be lucky to survive. My team and I spent all day trying to find out what happened, the status of his health, where the van was, and how to get it back. What should've been a happy day, ended up being a sad and depressing one. SMB ownership. So passive.

I've worked with dozens of biz owners to hire their first high-quality/low-cost global employee. The first hire is always the hardest. One thing that makes it easier? A simple offer letter. Want the one I have used for years? RT and comment "Send".

@jsunquist is (yet another) guest who was at first NOT open to acquiring a franchise resale. But as his search marched on, he became more and more drawn to the idea...

Let’s get ready to tumble! Come Monday, $TSLA enters the S&P 500, as the world is aware. This is the one you will tell your grandkids about, or at least the new crop of investors, wondering what the bubble of 2020 was like. Tesla can be your example of the insanity....1/

In the VP debate, Pence notes that Trump limited flights from China and claims this saved hundreds of thousands of lives. It was a sound move, but 45 countries imposed travel restrictions before the US did.

Two seemingly contradictory currents mark our society. 1. There is a denunciation of all claims of absolute truth. 2. Yet there is also a fanaticism in which one position or group is absolutely right, nothing is ambiguous, and divergent views should be destroyed

So while alcohol-based hand sanitizers are effective at killing the coronavirus on our hands, and should be used at every opportunity, nothing can replace the gold standard of washing our hands with good old fashioned soap and water, which also physically removes dirt and debris.
