❗️A Norwegian MP illegally transported drones to Ukraine and thereby forced the government to change the law, – Aftonbladet. ▪️ Peter Frølich, together with the organization “Free Ukraine” (Fritt Ukraina), tried to send a batch of drones with thermal imaging cameras to Ukraine; ▪️ The cargo was stopped by Norwegian customs: under a law adopted back in the 1950s, this was illegal; ▪️ Then the MP appealed directly to the government. He stressed that the situation was critical and that delay could cost the lives of Ukrainian soldiers; ▪️ The organization nevertheless managed somehow to secretly deliver the drones to Ukraine. The next day, the Norwegian government promised to expedite consideration of the issue. Ultimately, the rules were changed, and now Norwegians can legally send civilian drones to Ukraine.

Congratulations to my friend @LulaOficial on his electoral victory. Democracy and multilateralism have won in Brazil. Europe’s partnership with Brazil is thriving. We will remain by your side for the years to come. Together we will keep working closely for free and open trade. A rules-based global order. And strong ambitions for our climate.

From India to Canada to the Middle East to Europe, countries no longer know whether they can trust America. The consequences could be disastrous. My take:

Putin is losing allies in Europe. In Serbia, Vucic lost the election. The 14-year era of the rule of Aleksandar Vucic's party in Serbia has come to an end. The former president himself has already conceded defeat, and the opposition "Student List," according to preliminary results, is set to gain a majority of seats in parliament. This is a serious loss for the Kremlin. Serbia was not just a friendly country, but a convenient gateway to Europe. Through Belgrade, sanctions were circumvented, RT Balkan propaganda was disseminated, and operations of Russian intelligence services were carried out. And Russian businesses controlled strategic oil and gas assets. And now, following Orban's defeat in Hungary, another long-time partner of Putin has lost power. Russian Media Corps t.me/rusmediacorps

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump and his family have lost surprise elections, thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

American foreign policy under Trump is not isolationist. On the contrary, MAGA ideologues want to build an international empire run by far-right political movements who serve the interests of American crypto, mineral and tech companies, especially if they have links to the president. They think of themselves as "the vanguard of a movement that will alter not just America, but the world." Read more here: theatlantic.com/magazine/202…

I do think this is genius: * Inquiry-Native Organizing of the Knowledge Commons = also called 'question-native organising'; a method to combine individual wiki's in a network civilizationaloptionality.su… "The obvious alternative is one central knowledge base, where everyone writes into the same store. A shared store asks people to think in public before their thinking is ready, so half-formed work either stays out, or goes in and is mistaken for a position. And whoever holds the centre holds quiet power over what counts as known. The deeper reason is the method underneath, which we call inquiry-native organising. Indy set it out in two internal Dark Matter Labs papers on question-native organising, in December 2025. Most organisations make their commitments to action explicit and leave learning implied. The model of the world that produced the plan stays in people’s heads, so it cannot be interrogated and it does not compound. Inquiry-native organising reverses what is made explicit. The commitment is to a question. Action becomes a probe that advances it. What is scarce is a shared sense of direction that builds over time, so the working rule is to let questions branch freely and bring them together only through synthesis. That needs somewhere for half-formed thinking to live and be questioned before it is shared, which is what a personal wiki is for. The personal wikis and the team commons together help everyone build in step with each other, so that what we learn compounds."

* Dark Matter Labs: Rebuilding our learning infrastructure and knowledge commons in collaboration with LLM's. civilizationaloptionality.su… "The first wiki was for Indy, as we were trying to optimise his workflows. I gave him access on Friday 3 July. That day his wiki took in 58 sources, and by Sunday night 34 changes had been saved, all from his iPad. He learned the basics of git-based version control, the way software teams track every change and can undo any of them, along the way. That was the first signal that the shape was right."

The oldest story about human ambition ends with language being shattered. The newest chapter begins with language being reassembled. Thousands of years ago, someone wrote the story of the Tower of Babel. All of humanity speaks one language. They decide to build something that reaches beyond their own limits. They nearly succeed. What stops them is not force. It is the fracturing of the one capability that made the project possible. Communication. Scatter the language, scatter the people. Divide the ability to understand each other, and the tower collapses on its own. That story has been read as a warning for three thousand years. But that is exactly what we are living through. For millennia after the story was written, humanity remained scattered. Thousands of languages. Thousands of separate pools of knowledge that could not speak to each other. A breakthrough in one country buried for decades because the paper was written in a language nobody else in the field could read. The fragmentation was never just cultural. It was cognitive. Every language barrier was a wall between minds. Every wall between minds was a ceiling on what humanity could build together. AI is trained on language. That is not a technical detail. It is the most philosophically loaded sentence in the history of technology. The machine that might surpass human intelligence was built out of the one thing whose fragmentation has kept humanity divided since the oldest story we tell about ambition. The tower was made of bricks and held together by a common tongue. The moment the tongue fractured, the bricks were useless. The new tower is made of mathematics and held together by every tongue at once. Every language humanity has ever spoken, written, or recorded, now fed into a single system that can move between all of them. We are not rebuilding the tower out of stone. We are rebuilding it out of the very thing that brought the first one down. The machine does not speak one language. It speaks all of them. The wall that divided humanity for three thousand years is the training data. A person in rural India and a researcher at MIT can now interact with the same intelligence, in their own language, at the same depth. The barrier between minds is dissolving not because we taught everyone the same language, but because we built something that understands all of them. We should probably notice that we are doing this again. With the same raw material. At a scale the story never imagined. Building something that doesn’t just reach toward the heavens but thinks for itself on the way up. The ancient warning was not that the tower was too tall. It was that the builders might not be ready for what they find at the top. And this time, the language holds.

Donald Trump has spent forty years telling us he's the greatest dealmaker alive, and the evidence is a book he didn't write. Armed with that, he marches into century-old conflicts with the preparation of a five-year-old at a chess tournament and the confidence of a man who's never lost anything except casinos, an airline, and the popular vote twice. The results speak for themselves. He's sold out America to Russia, pitched beachfront hotels on the rubble of Gaza, and signed a diesel deal with Moscow while the war it's funding is still going. He got Greenland, triumphantly, and never noticed he'd been handed the same 1951 defense agreement the US already had, rewritten in a bigger font. The best bit is what the actual author said afterwards. Tony Schwartz, the ghostwriter, called the book lipstick on a pig, said he'd title it The Sociopath today, and admitted he invented the phrase "truthful hyperbole" to dress up the lying. The man has a black belt in lying, and it's the only one he's ever earned. The one deal Trump ever closed was getting someone else to make him sound clever.
Republican Senator Thom Tillis: “Putin is playing President Trump like a fiddle. And history is not going to look good on an America that failed to rise up and defend the Western world.”
