We spent a lot of time and many projects fighting React Native dropdowns.
Every existing library had at least one edge case that broke:
ScrollView eating the first tap, broken z-index inside Modal, keyboard collisions, layout off on notched devices.
So we wrote our own — and open-sourced it 🧵
Free, MIT, written in JS (no native modules).
GitHub → github.com/tenkaipl/react-na…
npm → npmjs.com/package/@tenkaipl/…
Live demo → snack.expo.dev/@krisix/tenka…
Multi-select and async loadOptions next. Feedback and issues very welcome.
first version ships with:
- Single select, searchable, clearable
- Grouped options (with smart filtering)
- Light + dark themes
- Full design tokens - colors, sizes, typography, icons
- Custom render props for trigger + group header
- iOS · Android · Web · Expo · bare RN
