My tip for anyone working freelance is to set aside an hour towards the end of the week to email people who owe you money for the work that you've done, and then another half hour for feeling bad about emailing asking for money for the work that you've done

In a heroic move, Gisele Pelicot fought to make public the videos of her unconscious rapes at the hands of over 50 men and won. She wanted the public “to look rape straight in the eyes.” Shame, she said, must change sides —from the victims to the perpetrators.
Police found more than 20,000 videos and photographs of Gisele drugged and being raped by various men on her husband’s devices in a folder titled “Abuse.”
On Friday, the judge complied with Gisele’s demand and showed the evidence “necessary for the manifestation of the truth.”
12 rape videos and 10 photos were shown over the courtroom’s three flat screens and projected into the overflow room for members of the public while the perpetrators in the videos sat in shame watching their own despicable criminal acts being exposed.

I missed my family so much that I cried every night for six months at residential school. One night, I was whipped with willow branches on my back for crying. I was 7 years old. The next day, the nurse applied sauve and bandages on my back. I guess it was like caning.

Canada Day is not about you. You know who it is about? The Indigenous population this country continues to exploit and enact genocide on in the name of colonialism and white supremacy. It’s not about you Michael. You are a white man in so called Canada. You are not oppressed.
