Is this a picture of Nige snatching Mrs Thatcher’s phone ? I don’t believe it. Fake news

What experience does Farage have exactly , Yorkie?
The way Farage answers questions from the media & press is skilful beyond words 😎 He has experience & style that can only be compared to Margaret Thatcher 👍 The only true Statesman in Britain 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

Hang on tight to you wallet, James. Grifters . Check out his top donor. I don’t think he’s forking out for kindness sake (TBIJ)
Nigel Farage & Robert Jenrick are the two best politicians and leaders in the UK. They are forming a great duo.

No, no, Rupert. The cabbies speak perfect English but they find your patois difficult to understand. As do many of us
In town after town after town English cabbies have been entirely replaced by Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi men who are incapable of speaking English. Yet another example of how our society has been entirely transformed by immigration. I am sick of it.

Voters are smarter than you think, John . Farage is obviously a snake oil salesman. He has no policies except Brexit and a strange interest in crypto and his dodgy mates
When i look and listen to Farage and Jenrick, i think two things. One, why isn't Farage our PM, he's without doubt the stand out candidate and second, why isn't Jenrick Chancellor, yet again, he is by far the stand out candidate for that position also. British people are not very smart.

You sound a bit sad, Joanne. Tell us more. A burden shared is a burden halved
I voted Tory in 2019. They betrayed me and they betrayed my vote. I will never vote for them again. I will always politically opposes them. They are no different than Labour.

That’s way off target, Marcus. You may disagree with Burnham, but that doesn’t make him a liar, let alone a mobster and thief with a seriously unhealthy personality
There is something intriguingly Trumpian about Burnham. He lies, fluently and blatantly and repeatedly, and he rarely gets called up on it. Those who spend ages fact-checking Trump are silent - partially because Burnham isn’t a Grotesque, and partially because he’s their guy.

Sorry to hear things look so bleak in Yarmouth, Rupert. It looked better when u last visited a while ago
To those MPs, usually Labour, constantly banging on about Bangladesh, Pakistan, Palestine? I have the following advice... Go to your constituency and LOOK AROUND. Dump, after dump, after dump. Society collapsing, public services non-existent, schools crumbling away. The contract between the state and the taxpayer has completely broken down. We are on the verge of something quite ugly. So I wish the Bangladeshis over there well, I really do. But to be brutally honest, I just don't care. Our concern, as British MPs, should be about what is happening in our constituencies, our communities, our country. OBVIOUSLY.

But Stash, in saying that you’re falling into Putin and Steve Bannon’s plan. “ Food the zone with shit” so no one believes anything, said Bannon. Don’t do it. Check stuff out. It’s not hard. Trump said it
There's a way to become impossible to manipulate, and it isn't trusting no one. It's learning the names of the tricks. Once a move has a name, you see it coming. Deepstash: one idea about how people think, 20 seconds each. 📲

Can this be really true ? Even from Trump ?
I don’t think I ever believed I’d see a newspaper paragraph like this: President Trump ‘said he would welcome immigrants from Denmark but not from Norway “because ‌I didn’t get the Nobel Prize, so I don’t want anybody from Norway”.’

And you
Replying to @michaelwhite
Your tribalism is showing again Michael. Fixed election cycles are the norm in democracies. I wish people were less tribal like you and more concerned about the national good.

I don’t think we disagree on that

Whether it was well judged or not doesn’t change the fact that we have a default 5 year election cycle
892
No, I didn’t suggest that. Major went to the 5 year limit and won, well judged, John, but : D Home (64) lost, as did Callaghan (97) and Brown (10). Cameron too (15), come to think of it
Replying to @michaelwhite
No, we have a 5 year election cycle. You’re meant to be a political commentator. The fact that PMs often go to the electorate after 4 years doesn’t mean it isn’t, by definition, an early election. By your logic, Major in 92, breached electoral law.

That’s not your smartest post, Jerry
We did briefly toy with having a fixed election cycle but Labour & Conservatives agreed that putting country before party was a bad idea and they preferred the option to have elections to suit themselves.

Valid point though I disagree about 2027. But that’s ok. Best wishes
Replying to @michaelwhite
Burnham may well call an election sometime next year but no way will he go for 10 December this year. Nothing is more guaranteed to instantly destroy Labour's current lead than forcing voters to go the polls in an unnecessary pre Christmas election.

Fair point, but I always try to answer real questions as distinct from populist claptrap, often vicious, often straight from trolls
Replying to @michaelwhite
It’s an effective way of putting someone down, I’ll grant you that. It’s also a great way to duck questions that - however daft - are often very real for the questioner.

A great leader, but way past his Sell By date . It was not a successful premiership despite Butler doing most of the hard work
Today in 1951 Winston Churchill re-elected British Prime Minister at the age of 76. A true and great leader along with Margaret Thatcher.

No
I am no conspiracy theorist, but there is no way that Labour are on 30% in the polls and 6% in front of Reform. It is impossible that there are that many uneducated people out there. My theory is that Reform voters have been telling pollsters that they would vote Labour. This would then make it look like Labour had a huge lead. Burnham would then call an election because he is desperate to have his own mandate and then we could get rid of him. Does anyone buy my idea?
