To me, the Ballon d'Or winner has always meant that, currently, they're the best player in the world. If the best player in the world is Harry Kane, that's mental.
Yes, he scores a lot of goals (a shitload of them were penalties; 34 in the last 2.5 seasons) but I just can't have it that he's THE pinnacle of football. That he's THE ABSOLUTE BEST in the world.
