I am back here 👋
Still unsure if it's a good idea.
But the time in tech is just too exciting.

Lockup period can really ruin a liquidity event 🙃
With revenue numbers at Anthropic, hope employees have the patience to weather a storm. RSU liquidity can be a huge challenge.
I was at Robinhood right before IPO. RSUs opened at $38. Employees had a 6mo lockup. Stock dipped below $11 eroding most of the value.
Took a whole lot of patience and tbh beast company execution to see that money when the stock rose again many years later. @vladtenev crushed it so hard that they even gave employees refreshers to preserve morale during the downturn.
It’s often a once in a lifetime chance, and then you are locked up with paper money that is life changing.
BTW companies can reduce lockup to just a month.

At this point the whole EU Inc negotiations are so lost in the details that everyone forgot the main goal: Creating a standard.
Basically, allow founders to raise quickly globally and use stock options to hire competitively.
Let’s say it quite clearly:
1) If EU Inc isn’t providing a standard it’s useless. We already got 30+ legal entities in Europe. Experienced founders use Delaware Inc already because of this.
2) If EU Inc doesn’t fix stock options Delaware Inc is still the better option.
I understand the there are complex details and people are worried about loopholes. But you can’t lose the actual goal of it because of it.
An EU Inc that doesn't provide a standard is pointless. Nobody will care about intricacies of compromises reached in political committees if the market can't use the outcome.
If you are in contact with your political leaders (prime ministers, presidents, et al) please reach out to them. Or to founders/investors in your network who might have that access.

Just kidding. It took 8 days of full-on work, 800+ commits, 150+ agent hours and a lot of feedback from my 9yo son ❤️

i mean, ffs, the current luminaries are people who used to build web frameworks you had to restart every night, and are now building terminal screensavers by porting python code 1:1 to rust, and instead of realizing that that's a bad fucking idea, tell their clanker to rewrite it in x86_64 assembly, "because assembly is excellence" or some shit, not realizing that the same performance can be had in vanilla rust, cross-ISA, if you don't force it to be python.
jfc, what a clown show. i'm so fucking tired.
at least neckbeards arguing on the internet had to know their shit in the before times.
