All hardware is obsolete and replaced as it's merely taking up space after about 5 or 6 years anyway. In a datacenter you can rip it out and replace it cabinet by cabinet. In space you discard it in the deorbit.

I never put these apps on my phone - firstly I don't trust them - they are spyware and secondly - in a real emergency they can SMS or call me. Now lets jump back 35 years, I was paid for every hour out of the office to carry the large, bulky primitive cellphone 24/7. Nobody else wanted to do it but I didn't mind at all. I was paid for every single hour including all weekend long to carry that just in case it ever rang - it never did ring - but I was there if it did. Was doing third line support - the hard shit back then.
