Thank you so much for posting about this. As a Jewish American, and lifelong Democrat, I am terrified, sad, hurt, and a little angry that more people aren't speaking out like you have. That ad was like a punch in the gut. It might as well have had a swastika in it, because it was that hateful and that racist. Trying to scapegoat Jewish people & Israel for our lack of health care is vile. We should have healthcare, but it has nothing to do with Israel. And for those of you don't think this is racist & antisemitic, then why didn't they bring up Ukraine, that gets twice as much aid and also has nationalized healthcare? Or Egypt or Jordan? Or any of the other countries where they receive tons of aid from us & have a better healthcare system? And why didn't El-Sayed immediately condemn it?... And tell the creators to take it down? It's because he feels that way and because he said very similar things himself. These are toxic lies that are gonna destroy the relationship between one of the most loyal Democratic voting blocks in the country. 88% of Jewish women voted for Harris and 71% of Jewish men. Don't take us for granted. Don't expect us to vote for someone who hates us or puts us in danger... Our children in danger! Ads like this rile people up and cause them to commit acts of violence like what happened in D.C, when an extremist killed a young Jewish couple, or Colorado, where Jews we're attacked with flamethrowers and molotov cocktails or to Governor Shapiro, when someone firebombed his house on a very important Jewish holiday(Passover) or my own Rabbi, who was beaten bloody and hospitalized, after being attacked because he was wearing religious clothing in a supermarket, or at my college that was vandalized on graduation day with anti-Jewish hate. The Holocaust was only eighty years ago, and we feel that horror in our bones deeply more than most people understand. We are always waiting for the shoe to drop, until we get carted off, and now we fear that our fellow Democrats just might let it happen to us. No one will stand up for Jewish people. We can all see that. And I cannot tell you how many Jewish people I know who are talking about getting their passports in order and fleeing to Israel, whether they hate Netanyahu or not. They don't even speak the language, but they feel unsafe here. Sad, betrayed & VERY UNSAFE.
